DSCF2405.jpgDSCF2406.jpgDSCF2407.jpg Got the vacuum and blower out for a little late spring cleaning. This winter was long cold and windy, so I'm just now getting the cab cleaned out. Lots of sand and little tree leaves that seem to find their way into every nook and cranny.

Im going to have to break down and buy some sets. Doggone weasel has been using my M35’s cabs as it’s private toilet
No weasels, but I allow our outside cat (one of which I picked up out of the middle of the road-half dead tiny kitten) to come and go as she pleases. I just leave a window down and she uses it at will. She knows to let it idle for a few minutes before shutting down.

I just buried a cat that thought it was faster than my wife.

It showed up about 6 weeks ago and had no tail so we called it "bob", then found it was a female so added "ra" on the end....Bob-ra.

It's funny how we get attached to our animals. I almost hate Christmas...for about 20 years I have had an animal pass away that needs burried when the ground is frozen...ours, the mother in laws, my dads, more of ours and another that just showed up as a stray. They all seem to pass at Christmas and I get the honors.

I'll never forget Bob-ra teaching our male cat (taco) a lesson about eating out of it's bowl. He started eating her food. While she had batted him a few times before, she hit him hard on the back of the head and pushed his head down into the bowl...teaching him a lesson. I laughed so hard at her putting him in his place...he didn't try that again.

Sorry for the diversion.

59apache is right that she was family. I am also sorry to learn the sad news.

As kids growing up we had almost one of everything, a skunk, racoons, squirrels, flying squirrels, a rabbit, turtles, frogs, toads, lizards, snakes (LOTS), an iguana, a crow and all kinds of birds, even a quail.

Some had to be buried (and yeah, sometimes in frozen ground, thanks for that reminder!)

The Quail (Ezra Half-Pound), did not require burial. A neighbor's cat caught her out in our backyard one day. One mouthful. GONE.

My buddy (the guy in the railroad "incident"), heard the news. He offered to render justice against the cat. We were all like "Yikes! NOOO. Please don't do THAT!!"

But I understood. He was trying to show his kindness and solidarity to us. But cats eat birds. They can't help it. It's what they do!

There was something noble (but misguided) about my buddy's offer. Luckily we stopped him! But he meant well.

The End

Wait a minute. This thread. It's not about family pets, is it?

Not again...

pp-wilson1.jpg Ahab, Wilson was the first thing I thought of when I saw the raft picture, and Kon-Tiki was a close second.

I ran out of rod welding the tube so the lights are just setting there.

RockAuto is usually good with descriptions but they say the clear backup has a 1056 bulb and socket but what came was a 1076 bulb and socket. I bought LED for the 1056.

Im going to get another red stop unit and use the housing with the white, thus having 1157 on all of them. The LED is colored, red, amber and white. I may use two reds.

I plan on a couple strobe controls, so there could be a lot of combinations.

Each light will have it's own SO cord going to a control box. I picked up some so cord that is foundry duty but with a rather small wire, 16-18 ga, I think. My trailer wiring will go back from that control box too, not tap off the lights.. Wiring for the lights is in that housing/tube.

Coming to the rescue with a Deuce post.....

NOT so much what I've "done" to our deuce, but what the plan is for the Independence Day holiday.....

I have reserved the morning to make some progress on some long-procrastinated priorities.

Will be firing up the big compressor and checking/inspecting ALL the tires on the MV's.... 10 on the Deuce plus spare, 2 on the M105 trailer, 10 on the XM818 Semi-Tractor (no spare), 8 + 2 Spares on the 220KAK Box Van Trailer, and 11 random spares in the motorpool. I figure that 44 tires ought to keep my morning busy and then the 4th of July festivity prep begins.
