i bought one of those $130 starters from ebay and 2 weeks later its bad again :evil:. im having a very hard time i sent it back to them and they recieved it 2/23/09 and havent heard anything yet. wish i would have bought it from a more reputable source or did a 12 volt swap now.:cry:

ok to get started i have a 1985 m1008. the m1008 it too much of a hoss for what i use it for 75% just daily driving and 25% work truck. i was thinking about finding a m1009 since i use it mainly just for transportation. my 1008 gets about 16mpg. what does a stock 1009 get? it has to be better...

thats pretty odd that a m1008 cost half of what a m1009 did.

a friend and i were talking about cucv's and we were trying to figure out what the government paid for them new. we were guessing probably $30,000 for a m1008. i dont know for sure but i thought that somebody on here would know.

where did you buy your lift from and what size are the tires? i like the way it sits

the dealer i told them it was for a 1997 k2500 with a 6.5. if you need one for a direct drive starter i have a couple. i would like to have new starter bolts but the dealer said i have to order at least 5.

most of the parts are the same as a civilian truck since you already changed yours to 12 volts. Chevrolet used the 6.2 in many trucks / vans from 1982-1993 . i have found better bargains on the internet. but thats just my opinion, good luck with you truck.
