What did I do, probably fried the wiring. 1985 m1008 sits up 1-2 weeks at a time and there is a ground and slow discharge I haven't found yet. I jumped it with my other CUCV as I always do, but my son said sparks flew from the pos terminal on the rear battery when I turned the key. Truck...
Trying to get M1008 cammo. Used scheme for M880 TM as a start. Had not removed Civ style camper shell, so I thought what the heck, start painting it too!
Drove my M1008 on a dirt road today and heard a "Clicking" sound in the H/L shift on the floor when I hit a bump. Soundlike a solenoid trying to engage or something. Didn't notice any issues with the transmission or anything else, just the clicking.
I was reading all the things you guys do with your CUCVs and was showing my wife. Of course her comment was" I guess you expect to fix you truck up like that!" Naturally my reply was "YEAAHH!"
Got it running! Just took it (bought) from my son and got it running. Chevy dealer had installed two each batteries and alternators, but batteries slow drained. Look at the wiring and I think they wired it for a 12 V vs 24V set up as i do not see the alternator connection from the passenger...
