Before I start tearing wheels and brake drums off, anybody have any ideas for my deuce which has a brake(s) on the rear that drag once in a while in reverse?

One piece of advice, before diving in and rebuilding one of these starters, check the nose cone very carefully for cracks. Sometimes swapping the core is a cheaper way to go (I can show you the t-shirt I got for this)
Ask for rebuild kit for a 1960's CJ5. The MC interchange as does the rebuild kit. Just make up a year they would be all the same from 59 ish to 1970 ish. I pick mid 60's because then the dolts at NAPA can find it in the book.
There was an article in MV Magazine a couple of years ago detailing this exact project. It mentioned re timing the pump. But if you search this board there are a few guys that say you don't have to so I guess the message is do your own research and decide.
