I'll get more pics soon. The color isn't Tan Carc, it is faded mustard yellow--blecchhh. I talked to the owner today--he wants $1800 for it. Apparently the engine doesn't run..at all.

The truck is in fact an M41. The guy got it at a county surplus sale, and has chopped the rear axle out of it. He might sell it if anyone is interested. Here's pics of the data plate and super sinlge 14.00x20 tires.

They weigh about 23K, and TXDOT will have all kinds of fun with you if you haul one on a gooseneck. Hauling a duece on a gooseneck is easy , when you get up to the five tons they weigh 20K and up, you're right at the maximum weight that can be safely hauled by a one or even 1.5 (F550) ton truck.

Check with the recylers in your area, they use them for sorting purposes. I have a few, but there is a little too much distance between us.

I have a tank off one I use at the ranch. The rest of the brake system was missing when I got it, so I removed the tank also. It's not very large or heavy, I'll check into shipping If you part out your second one, I need the top two leaves off one of the springs.

The NP205 would be your best bet, but you must find the later model" round" pattern t-case and corresponding adapter (unless you want to change the output shaft in your tranny also). It has a 1.96 ratio low range. The other option would be the NP241--similar but improved version of the...

If I am not mistaken, GL put that same truck up for auction four times before someone (you) actually followed through and paid for it. Hence Robyn's comment; "I wish that truck would go away". Props to you! This makes you wonder what the actual percentage of "real" bidders are out there on GL.

Now, PM Robyn (as in GL Robyn) and tell her she owes you one for finally making that truck "Go Away".

Could also be the fact that it is 9 1/2 feet wide, hence an oversize load.

Golden State Equipment rentals out of Hesperia helped me recover a five ton from Barstow, charged $105 per hour, has a winch on the trailer for dead trucks.

I know a guy in New Mexico who has a couple dueces for sale, and I have to deadhead to Ft. Carson to p/u a truck I bought. If you are interested, it might save you some $$$
