PA - Spring 2015 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

Boy I'd hate to run into another group, or two, coming in the opposite direction. Mikey

Official 2015 Military Transport Association of NJ Show & Swap Meet 4/18-19

This will be my first time at Sussex. I understand we can show up with no notice and gain entry into the display field, but do we need to notify anyone in advance if we plan on camping? I plan on arriving Friday late afternoon and camping until Sunday. Also, where / how do we pay for camping...

PA - Spring 2015 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

As of right now it looks like I'm going to be traveling down to RC on Friday with SS member XchaosX. We will be taking 81 South from Binghamton, NY. Does anyone want to travel with us? I know I can be flexible on the time, but I'd like to be at the PA / NY border no later than 3-4pm. Mikey

    Sanding 1971 M35A2

I've posted this before in the paint and bodywork section. If you're OK with painting over the CARC and you're not looking for a museum quality finish, I had great success with very little expense and painted my entire truck in 2 weekends alone. The new paint, whatever you choose, is going to...

PA - Spring 2015 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

I've never not had a great time at the ss rc event. I've never met a member at rc that I didn't like. We've laughed, bbq'd, drank by the bonfire and sometimes got some six wheeling in. Great people. Great times. I'll be there this time. Looking forward to seeing some new faces and laughing...

    M1101 and F150 successful recovery

wbread99, you and harleyhouse are 100% correct, a year later I can confirm that you have absolutely no clue you're pulling an m1101 behind a 5ton. Even when mine was loaded with camping gear I couldn't tell it was there. Backing it up though, that is interesting. Because the wheelbase on...

Silly me...I thought I would remove the lug nuts with a breaker bar and cheater pipe.

I could not get a single lug nut loose on a deuce front wheel. I tried the 3' breaker bar with cheat pipe and even drove it against the ground until the 3' braker bar bent. I ordered the 3/4" air impact gun from HF for $79. It arrived a few days later and all lug nuts came off with no...

    Trailer ID Help

You're right, my bad. The side rails are way too high. But those wheels look like 5 lug recessed dish wheels, not like the wheels on any M105 that I've ever seen... Mikey

    Trailer ID Help

I am 100% confident that the trailer in that picture is an M101 and it will trail well behind your M1009 or any light truck. Assuming it's in good condition, I'd offer $250 but I'd personally go as high as $450. Mikey

    Trailer ID Help

My M101 has 5 lug nuts. In fact you can swap the tires from the M101 with the M37. Mikey

I was so disappointed when I lived in Sweden and the women had never heard of the Swedish Bikini Team... Until I went to the beach and discovered they don't know what bikini's are! They only use the panties!!!! WINNING! Mikey

Vin / sn location on m37

Hi all, I'm going to look at an M37 tomorrow and if all goes well, we will seal the deal. I'm bringing a bill of sale with me, but the truck has no title and has never been registered. Where can I find the serial# on an M37 if the data plates are gone? I know on the deuce it's stamped on...

    Help with snatch block calculations

I just want to say thank you to Ron (73m819). He pm'd me with his # and offered me his time and experience to ensure I had a safe and successful recovery this spring. It was an excellent conversation and I truly appreciate someone with the experience he has reaching out to a less experienced...

    M1101 and F150 successful recovery

Very funny to see this thread revived after over a year because I'm be heading to Ft. Drum this Friday to recover another M1101. Why don't I ever bid on trucks or trailers when we have nice weather? Mikey

    Help with snatch block calculations

Technically, the block needs to be double the max line pull, not double the winch rating, but to be safe, you should own a block at least double your winch rating plus some. If you have a 20k winch and you ever max that out with a 20k line pull, you will want a 40k block. But nothing is...
