    Oil everywhere!

Ah ha!!!! I fixed it. It was the cap that covers the fuel shut off. It only leaked at 2300 rpm's and above so it wasnt easy to find. Anyway I had forgotten to put the gasket in when I put it back together. Put the gasket back and alls good. Thanks.:-D

    Oil everywhere!

Ah, it just came to me in the shower! I'll bet it's the o-ring underneath the IP head. Thats the only thing in the area that I have messed with. I guess I'll pull the ip head and see what I find. I'll let ya'll know what I find. Thanks for the help guys.:-D

    Oil everywhere!

The oil isnt anywhere close to the Jatonka kits. It's all around the injection pump and up. I am suspecting oil lines underneath the IP.

    Oil everywhere!

^^^ No I didnt think to take any, but I can say that the oil is originating around the injection pump area.

    re-assembly of the oilfilter.....

    Oil everywhere!

I replaced the ip head a few days ago and today I installed all 3 of Jatonka's fuel filter kits. I also replaced the master cylinder. I took the truck out for a spin and it drove great, but when I pulled back in the shop there was oil all over the drivers side of the engine compartment. Its all...

Don't Let Your Brother-In-Law Drive Your Deuce

Dang is that out of a multi fuel? I hope not. The rods in my Dodge Cummins pick up are twice that thick. Okay not twice as thick, but quite a bit thicker.

Why do IP heads go bad?

I bought a 5 ton injector pump from greengemdepot for $100.00, but then I decided to just swap out the heads instead of doing the entire pump install.

    How much for a Hardtop?

I paid $200.00 for mine, but I had to do alot of work on it.

    Engine running diffrent?

I had a machine that acted like that. It turned out to be water trapped in the filter system.

Why do IP heads go bad?

I just had to change th IP head out on my Duece. I am pretty sure that is not the first time it's been done on this truck. The engine has very low hours and I just cant see that it's from wear. I am suspecting dirty fuel and filters. Like the title says - why do they go bad? I want to make sure...

    ^^^I would be interested. :)

I am looking into removing the govenor!

You could turn up the fuel and adjust the governor. I believe the governor is just a stop screw.

    Injection pump?

^^^^^I think I'll stick with the 2500 rpm's also for now anyway. I am in no hurry on the road. I do like the additional power though.:)

    Primary fuel filter problem

    What he said. ^^^^^^

    Injection pump?

I just changed the ip head. I cant say about the power yet as I havent driven down the road yet. Since it's from a 5 ton I would guess its giving it more fuel/power. Isnt the ip head the part that regulates the amount of fuel delivered? Update as of 1600 hrs. Yow, yes it gives it more...

    M35a2 in tank fuel pump

The truck should run even if the lift pump is not working. Something to think about. If it is an injection pump problem, it can most likely be fixed easily and cheaply with good used parts.

    Trailer towing M35a2?

I use to tow a 25' dual tandem axle trailer behind mine while loaded with a tractor. The non turbo duece pulled it just fine. I imagine that's more load than your going to pull.

    Injection pump?

Finished up this afternoon. It's running fine and I am so happy to get it back on the road and job. :)

    Injection pump?

I was getting ready to install my 5 ton injection pump on my duece, but then thought why not just swap the hydraulic heads. Can I do that or should I just replace the whole pump?
