^^^ The Cummins swap has been covered quite a bit, but that was for a mechanical engine. I dont think you'll find much on the computerized version. Anyway, search away and you'll find plenty.
I know this threads a little old, but I scrapped a m35a2 bed today and it weighed in at 1,420 lbs. Just the bed - no mud flaps or anything else. Yes the scale is state certified.
Ah, I scrapped it. I thought that it would be better to have it make something new instead of just rusting away behind my shop.
Those that wanted it, sorry, but it would have been more work than you wanted. I am sure there are better ones out there.
I know you were probably being sarcastic, but it actually is a great way to move a duece. When mine was broke down I just put a driver in the seat and pushed it around the lot and backed it into my shop. Easy as pie.:-D I did put an old 11.00 20.00 tire between the truck and the forklift though.
I have replaced my standard deuce bed with a dropside. Sorry no pics. I did it in the dark. Anyway it's rusty, but could be saved if someone had the time or motivation. I dont have either.
Should I keep it, sell it, scrap it or give it away? Does anyone need a standard M35a2 bed?
Thanks.
I have to jump on board also. I have all the oil and fuel filters and am very pleased with them. I think they are the most important addition or mod that you can make to the truck.... Superior filtering.:-D
^^That's true I think the rustoleum does make it look like an older model, but what the hey.
If you didnt want to leave it primer they do make the exact color in paint.
If your just looking for a gas engine how about a 478 v6 or the like. They had great torque and didnt require high rpms. I know they could move a duece with no problem. I dont know if that is something that is in your line of thinking but it was a thought.
Yes 3 axles are better for sand. You will have better floatation.
An a2 steers fine as long as you are moving. At a dead stop? Forget it.
You can always buy the air assist kit for the a2.
I have bought from him a few times. He's well known here and a stand up guy. He is some kind of contractor and seems to have been pretty busy lately. As he told me he responds best to email.
It's expensive, but I am thinking of putting this in the drain if they have the correct size. I have one on my Dodge oil pan and have been pleased.
