    Ridiculous items flagged during inspection

On my 818 the master switch kills the lights... I left the lights on one time and was worried it would be dead the next day like my Deuce...but it wasn't. Must be an option??

    remanufactured M818's for sale???

I agree with BKubu...My 818 was a rebuild I believe....Looked great in the GL pictures. Went to inspect, and found some rust repairs (plates + pop rivets), a horrid paint job (paint over rust, LOTS of runs, etc). I think the rebuild was something done in the 90's. It didn't look like it had a...

I got my second EUC approved about a month ago. It was at BC for 6 days. The first EUC I did was in May of '08 and took 20 days at BC.

Redstone - Tucson M35a2 recovery: seeking counsel

I think a member here used Rocket City Trucks to recovery their truck and do the PM before they picked it up. I personally have no experience with them.

First Deuce -- Rear Main Seal

snoplay: Rear cab frame (soft top off) or thru the rear window in a hard top, to the front window frame (open window). I used a chain hoist when I did this on my 5ton, and also helping lobanz yesterday. The pipe Kenny mentioned will help you position the tranny. When I pulled the tranny in my 5...

    HEMMT drivetrain

The Cummins 4BT is a nice swap. The issue is gearing. The 4BT turns fewer RPM's than a 6.2L. You can put a 700R4 behind it for overdrive, but I know one guy with a civy blazer with a 4BT that fried 3 700R4's. The 700R4 is weak, and unless built and cooled exceptionally well isn't going to hold...

Redstone - Tucson M35a2 recovery: seeking counsel

bsorcs: I might be able to take a look at your truck next week, I think I'll be out on the arsenal. I assume you've won it already? I'll second what others have said....trips like that really test a truck and if everything isn't ship shape you will have issues. Things like rear mains, rear wheel...

    tops off

I took mine off a couple times....only problem is you never know when the weather is going to turn on you. Also, going offroad will fill the back with debris if you go through the woods. Usually worth it!

    Sticky Deuce Brakes

I believe this sounds like a parking brake issue. I've heard of this issue before with the same symptoms ( sticking in reverse). I'm sure someone who has had experience with the parking brake issue will chime in. I think it has to do with the springs. I would run that to ground before I starting...

First Deuce -- Rear Main Seal

Lobanz: I just dropped the tranny in my M818 to replace the clutch and flywheel. I may be able to lend a hand. I'm in south Huntsville. PM me for contact info.

    M818 Won't crank

Well, 2 of the 3 fingers seem to move where they should. The 3rd can be seen in this picture P4120015 its the one on the left. A gap can be seen between it and the Throwout bearing, compared to the one on the right that is almost touching the TO.

    M818 Won't crank

I had a friend push the clutch in while I looked up in the inspection hole. I could only see 2 of the 3 fingers on the plate. One of them looked to be touching the TO bearing when the clutch pedal was out. The other looked to be about a 1/2" gap or more from the TO bearing. When the clutch was...

    M818 Won't crank

There was absolutely none....I adjusted the linkage to the freeplay spec'd in the TM, no go. Not sure what to think now...

    M818 Won't crank

I started her up in 1st gear, clutch in, service and parking brakes on, she crawled forward and tried to stall. Did it a bunch, tried 3rd gear. In 2nd gear, clutch in, full brakes, she would slow way down, and keep rolling. Obviously the clutch is slipping a bit in this condition. Next, I...

    M818 Won't crank

No clue, it was on a paved GL lot in Huntsville when I got it, could have been on grass up in NC?
