I put full Hydro steering on my Deuce. I purchased a 3"x9" double ended ram from PSC. It has a 9" stroke designed for the Deuce. It takes mine right up to the stops at the end of the travel.
Yeah, contact mike at odiron.com. I purchased my clutch and pressureplate from him and it worked out great. Also purchased a lot of seals and brake rebuild parts. Quick shipping and a great guy.
I might have injector issues that could be causing the starting delay. My Deuce smokes all of the time. Idle, part throttle, and full throttle. Not really sure, it still runs so I won't 'fix' it. It smoked before the oil mixture also, just a little more with the oil.
As far as the temp, I live in Florida. Since I have been using the waste motor oil, it hasn't gotten below 50 degrees. It does take about 2 seconds longer cranking in any weather to start, but start it does. There might be a slight decrease in power but can't be sure. If there is it is very minor.
Personally I haven't run ATF but I've heard about a lot of people running up to a 95% mix of ATF and Gasoline without problems. I run a 75% used motor oil and 25% gas/diesel mix with good results. Also running it through a 5 micron filter with magnets on the storage container. Putting the...
I guess I fall into the catagory of 'beat the heck out of it' because I don't follow the TM's and I do abuse my Deuce on a regular basis. It just keeps going, kinda like the energizer bunny.
I like that idea, I don't look at the classifieds very often either. I think that I would however check out the Buy, Sell or Trade forum because it would be right there.
Yeah, James came over last night and brought the winch with him. It's in rough shape, but I'll go through it and get it mounted. He hasn't got the pto and accessories off yet, but that is the light part! Hope that you find your next project soon. I think that once you get them all pretty you...
I would think that it should help with the 'steering wheel jerk' but not positive. I'm guessing that it would take a shock with a lot of resistance for quick movement and little resistance to slow movement so that it didn't hinder you. They are had enough to steer on their own.
Thats awesome, I'll be running the 54" boggers and there are lockers in the front and rear. And it has air conditioning. A must for down here for a street/mud truck.
I'm building a tube chassis, fiberglass 55 chevy with a 502 and rocks with those 2" shafts. Not finished yet, but hopefully I can get into gear and get it done this year. Since I finished the Deuce, the '55 has been put on the back burner.
Mine only runs at 170 degrees according to the gauge. Don't really know if it is right or not. Also, my truck smoked some with straight #2 before I put the WMO in it. Not really sure why it does it, I don't think that it was oil smoke with #2 straight because the oil level does not go down and...
I've just set up a system where I mix 75% WMO with 25% gasoline, let it settle overnight, and pump it into the tank through a 5 micron filter. I ran the Deuce last Sat. with this in the tank. Dirtyfingernails was following me in his Deuce and he said that he didn't want to run behind me any...
