I get the flu on Wednesday

I can't imagine trying to change the filters through that hole. Not when it's relatively easy to slide the hood out of the way. But bleeding, yes. Had one filter housing with a broken off bleeder screw. Drilled and tapped for larger ones, but haven't put that one back in service yet. It was...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I've had them come off the bead at maybe 15 psi, but don't you have the official air-up-from-the-SEE hose??

    FLU419 Hydraulic Cooling Fan Service

You can check function by bridging the sensor on top of the cooler. My fans very rarely run, except when using the snowblower, but one did die on the Winter SEE. Stupidly stole one from the Summer SEE (which was supposed to be a parts car), so I ended up getting a close copy - off of eBay, I...

    FLU419 Fire Extinguisher

Nothing wrong with powder extinguishers...as long as it's someone else's vehicle that's on fire.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Doesn't really matter. Unless your FLU still belongs to the military, and they decide to have it freshened up.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Another thought. Over the years I have used that extra circuit twice on the HMMH. In other words, do you really need it? Same with the locking front suspension, come to think of it. An interesting novelty that I forgot all about.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I had a similar need for my tractor a few years ago. Needed hydraulics for angling a snow plow. Looked at adding a ("third function" I think they called them) switch setup to the joy stick, but decided on installing a separate valve with a lever instead. Either way, the tractor can now angle the...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

It'd be quicker and easier to add an electrically operated splitter valve to the SEE, wouldn't it? Then you'd have the same functions on it as on the HMMH.

    FLU 419 Model Variations

Okay, the front mount sure looks like a FLU mount to me, but as I mentioned, I haven't measured or tried yet. The rear one may very well not fit a FLU implement, as I recall pins being involved. Haven't removed a rear implement yet. Either way, this MB 4/94 originally came equipped with a loader...

    FLU 419 Model Variations

Well, I can't say for sure that things would fit on the MB 4/94 since I've never tried. But the mounts sure look the same. I can take photos later today and let you guys guess.

    FLU 419 Model Variations

No, I put the blade on one of the SEEs, since it wasn't doing any good on the HME sitting in the garage. But I could've put it on the HMMH if I wanted to. As far as I know, the loader, forklift, and blade are all interchangeable. Same mounts. The only difference being that the forklift...

    FLU 419 Model Variations

That combination is only two bolts away...if you find a Schmidt dozer blade. Which I did, once getting the HME. But I'll be switching things around this spring, as having the blade on the "main backhoe" is far from ideal for me. It's not that I use the bucket per se, but it is most helpful when...

    FLU 419 Model Variations

I have thought about selling my spare HMMH, but now that the forklift cylinder on the one I use has sprung a leak I'm not so sure. Either way, I don't know how I got along without a crane.

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

You can still shift, but the splitter won't work. Brakes will lose power assist, and 4WD and diff locks won't work. I know it says not to drive before the air system is at pressure or damage can/will result, but I have yet to figure out what that damage could be.

    FLU SEE / HMMH hybridization?

Yes, I see no reason why you couldn't do that. The other way around is a bit different since the SEE doesn't have the button on the curl lever to operate the rotation of the forklift. Also, be prepared for a lot of front heaviness, as the crane doesn't weigh as much as the backhoe.

    Recommendations - FLU419 review for purchase ?

Especially if it hasn't been used for a while, be sure to clean off the rods on all hydraulic cylinders before trying to operate the loader or backhoe. I liked buying the ones listed as non-runners as the seals were still intact, and it was usually easy to get them started. Also, it sounds like...

Using my SEE for real work

Yeah, you'll find photos in the long thread. It was probably about four years ago, and they where a bit spread out as I recall since it involved both the quick tach and putting a plate on the bucket. I'm overdue for a re-read but won't get to it for a while.

Using my SEE for real work

Now you know why I converted. And to hook up the snow blower wasn't the only reason for the quick tach.

    FLU419 transmission question
