    Where do these items go?

Yep, thats how it usually works no matter where you are lol. I used to pack parachutes, we had a nice collection of air items people forgot to take off of their harnesses. That and I doubt that stuff is even supposed to be in the vehicle when it goes to DRMO. People that find them in the CUCV's...

Rear Diff Smells like a Sewer PLUS: ID these diff parts???

A guy from the local wheeling community told me a story about the infamous 'Chevota'. It was a Toyota cab on a Chevy half ton frame and running gear. It wasn't supposed to be a serious wheeling truck, just a beater to **** around with and beat to ****. Well... he ran both open differential 10...

m1008 lacking power at full throttle

Black smoke isn't a good thing on a naturally aspirated 6.2 diesel, its unburnt fuel. My pump is turned up, and I barely get a smokey haze at full throttle, 4 low 1st gear. Sounds like you had fuel issues before it started bogging.

    sm465 into a m1008 for towing

6.2 diesel flywheels are specific to the 6.2, nothing else will work. As far as road speed, its easy to figure out. You won't gain much MPH. Gear Ratio Calculator

m1008 voltage gauge in the yellow on start, is that normal?

New belts stretch, I doubt thats your problem. Something else is wrong.

    Dana 60 seal question

That part is usually easier for me, dunno what you're doing with it. BF brass hammer does the trick every time.

    Another Death Wobble Dilema

Death wobble is a problem with the axle, whether it be alignment or worn components. You can replace suspension parts all day, death wobble will still be there. Sloppy steering and death wobble are two different things.

    Another Death Wobble Dilema

No, a new axle is not cheaper. Replacing shafts and spindles is easy. I used one regular 2" wide steel washer over each spring.

    Another Death Wobble Dilema

Shim the king pin springs with 2" wide steel washers. I had the same problem, shimmed the springs...42" tires with no stabilizer...no death wobble.

    crossmember/ tansmission mount

That crossmember is extremely bent. It should sit flat on a level surface, with the ends that bolt to the frame being slightly raised. I wouldn't bother trying to fix it, you can find one at a junk yard.

keep the 6.2 or go 454?

Keep the 6.2 diesel... Doesn't take horse power to be a hardcore wheeler. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Irs0siSxF6A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6THfMgaY438 Those tires aren't small, and the obstacles aren't as easy as they look.

    lost my "Death Wobble" virginity

Replaced my kingpin springs and bushings, and also shimmed the spring. No death wobble, even without a steering stabilizer with unbalanced 42" TSL's.

m1008 tranny added 7.3 quarts still not filled up?

Mine took just under 2 gallons. Gotta remember, it can only take half a quart to be completely on or off the dipstick. Every truck has its quirks.

    1009 lift

I guess im a hill billy. I'd gladly challenge you to 50$ obstacles, send you and your street queen home broke.

    TH400/NP205 adapter

I was very surprised when I saw CUCV's don't have the anti-torsion bars on the T-case to tranny and bellhousing to engine. I had always heard you need them or the T-case or transmission would surely break. My truck has seen more hard use than any road vehicle will ever see, up to and including...

    Town mechanics Messed up M1008

LOL! I saw the first picture that pops up and was like "That isn't that bad...what a bunch of pansies..." Then I saw what was pulled out under the dash....holy crap.

    28MT replacement starter

I got one off ebay for 90$ shipped. It was still in the plastic and was a Delco. Gotta have the gear reduction bracket, I got mine from the Chevy dealership for 15$. It spins way faster and is one of my favorite bolt on mods. I kept the direct drive as a backup just in case though... hard to...
