Do I need a new temp sensor?

Yes I did. doghead, if I took your post in the wrong light, then I sincerely apologize for my outburst. I took it as "No you didn't dude. If you did then what was the resistance?" I may have read way too much into that. Sorry.

Do I need a new temp sensor?

Well, gee boss, that would depend on the temperature now wouldn't it? I don't appreciate your smart alec tone. If you don't want to help, that's cool, then don't post.

Do I need a new temp sensor?

That sounds like the best way to go. Having the stock system still function is the way I would prefer. It's really only a problem in the summertime when it gets pretty hot out. In the cooler months she never has an issue. I think I'll make this my afternoon project. Thanks.

Do I need a new temp sensor?

I've checked the entire system out top to bottom. It works perfectly when it's cold. The more research and digging I do on this, I'm finding that it's a very common issue on 6.2s, even when they were brand new. TMs aren't helpful. I'm starting to think that the fix may be more of a modification...

I can't get to the TM section. It redirects back to the recent posts screen.

Do I need a new temp sensor?

The GP system in Tank is in good working order. I just installed brand new glow plugs, and she starts from cold perfectly. The issue I have is that if I run her then leave her sit for an hour or two, then go to start her again, she'll never turn on the plugs, and consequently spit and sputter...

    New Glow Plugs. Much Better!

It wasn't that hard. The passenger side is the hardest due to the batteries being in the way, but it didn't make things difficult enough to warrant removing the battery trays in my opinion. Lol I know what you mean about your "thought process". My Dad and I joke that we have "may as well"ed and...

    New Glow Plugs. Much Better!

I just got done putting new glow plugs in the M1009. I went with the AC 60Gs, and replaced the factory connectors with 1/4" female blade terminals. She starts like a dream now! The cycle time on the light is longer than it was before I installed the new plugs, but from what I have read that's...

    Smoke, idle, and power issues...

Well, it's running much better now, after I advanced the timing A LOT. It's about 3/8" past the hash mark. Must be time for a new chain.

    Smoke, idle, and power issues...

I've been working this weekend, so I haven't had any time to do more troubleshooting yet. I've been driving it to work and back though, and it hasn't done it once on the las two days. Weird!

    Smoke, idle, and power issues...

Here's a video clip of the problem. The initial startup would be even worse, requiring a few revs to get it to clear out and idle. I pulled the dipstick tube and I am getting a little bit of smoke coming up out of it. Maybe the rings are getting weak? YouTube - ‪M1009 Smoking‬‏

    Smoke, idle, and power issues...

I thought of that, but the thing is that since I have dual exhaust, and each bank is on it's own pipe, I should have only one bank smoking if it was an injector, which isn't the case. Both banks smoke equally. Oddly, the problem seems to be somewhat intermittent. This morning I fired it up and...
