    More %#@! Electrical problems

You mention 'upper alternator', do you have an A/C compressor on the driver's side and two alternators on the passenger's side? If so, you don't have a standard CUCV system, you have the 1010 Ambulance style system with the Duvac controller, which is a problematic system and completely different...

    Post your cucv pics here

Here are pics of my 1009 with the lightbar installed. Sorry for the quality, they're from my cell. Later, Joe

    12v vs 24v inverter

24V uses fewer amps at the same load, also, you have that nifty 24V power block behind the passenger's seat already wired and ready for almost any size inverter you want. Those would be the two key points for me. Later, Joe

    Holy Melting Ground Strap!

Can you post some pics of the damage? Might help with diagnosis. As was posted earlier, the thing on the passenger's side is for starting dead vehicles without opening the hood. The high current wires run directly to the firewall terminal busses and there are no components in the connector that...

    Strange looking 939 hood

Rancher's Supply here in Colorado makes them I believe... several of his 900s that he got without complete hoods have them on it. He also makes hardtops and one piece fixed windshields as well IIRC. Later, Joe

Try Using U-Ship to Move MVs

I've moved my big wreckers both from the east coast to CO using UShip... personally had a great experience both times. Did have an issue with the first shipper, but nothing to come back on me. The broker who bid the job on UShip got paid by me, and then did not pay the trucking co that did the...

    Humvees for sale

When I was in Germany in the mid 90's my unit converted 4 M998s to that style 4 door hard top. They were a kit you got through supply. Later, Joe

    Wiring schematics needed

In post 7, I listed the correct way that the batteries are supposed to be hooked up: Radiator Core Support to front battery Negative Front battery Positive to rear battery Negative Rear battery Positive to firewall positive buss bar (upper one). There is a smaller gauge wire that comes off the...

    Noob Question

I agree with Kenny, the lack of the indicator on the side tells me that it's a 1028A1 with the 205. Does the lever stick straight up instead of laying at an angle towards the front of the truck? Later, Joe

    Troubleshooting a MEP-005A

Battle Short just overrides the protective devices on the engine, it does nothing on the voltage side. It's been 6 years since I touched a MEP-005, I'll check a couple of things and get back to you. This is a common enough problem with MEPs that haven't been used regularly... I'm just trying to...

    Troubleshooting a MEP-005A

After it drops to 0, have you tried re-engaging the switch to reflash the field? The starter shouldn't engage because the engine is running, but the field flash circuit should reflash the field. Later, Joe

    6.5L in a M1009?

Yes, it is on PDF page 197 in the -20. The approved procedure includes using a measured block on the throttle linkage and a vacuum gauge to adjust the valve to the proper amount of vacuum. Not having the block, I just moved it a little and drove it until I got the shifting where I wanted it...

NON-Wisconsin Registration & Use Information Wanted

I don't think so, CO is getting ready to pass some MV friendly legislation that will allow us to use bumper numbers to replace license plates like TX so most states are MV friendly... someone in WI just got some bug up their butt to harass people and I hope they get SPANKED soon. Later, Joe

    Registering a Bobbed Deuce.

LOL.... You can probably go to the DMV and ask them what to do if you modify the vehicle. In CO, you have a Title Correction VIN inspection done when you change from Gas to Diesel (or vice-versa) so I would assume that you would have to get some form signed off by the state showing how you...

    6.5L in a M1009?

The valve might not be adjusted correctly. Loosen the two bolts that hold it to the side of the IP and adjust it a little and test drive it. Repeat until it shifts where you want it. Later, Joe
