Doch!! :D (Aber, ich denkst Sie is keine "jung." ;) ) Und Mir!! :( Click "Start," go to "All Programs," click on "System Tools," click on "Character Map" and you'll find what you need. It will be a key combination using the "ALT" key and a series of numbers.

    Chevy 1-1/4 Ton By Roadside

I've seen much worse than that brought back to life. I sure couldn't do it or afford to have it done for me, but it has been done. This one looks like a fella could show up in a wrecker and say "gimmee fifty bucks an' I'll haul it away for ya." Who knows? It might work. ;)

    HMMWV directional tires right?

The right front tire is mounted correctly. The driver's side tire is backwards. I've never dealt with run-flat tires, but I'd imagine that you can just dismount them and flip them on the rim. Many tires now have arrows molded into the sidewalls showing the desired direction of rotation. If a...

    Steel Soldiers, users age

I'm 66 years old, thanks to the VA health care system, and "I can live with that." (When they first diagnosed my myasthenia gravis, I was 57 and they figured I wouldn't make it to 60.)

    W400 Ambulance

Correction noted, Bob. Thanks! I'll file it with the rest of my newly acquired MV tidbits. :)

    W400 Ambulance

The Dodge W400 is the civilian vehicle upon which the M880 series of military vehicles is based. The military ambulance is the M886, and was used by all branches of the armed forces. ("W400 ambulance" is a term used by "car people" who don't know any better. ;) )

how to tell sprag or air?

I would have enjoyed driving a deuce like the one he just bought while I was still in the AF. None of the deuces assigned to my unit had power steering OR air-shift t-cases. Manual stuff all the way, but I loved every second I spent behind the wheel on those "beasts." The only complaint I...

    Another irristable aquisition

Generally speaking, the roads aren't all THAT tight! The motorway is the same as our interstate system...plenty wide and 4 lanes. The A roads are equivalent to our US highways, and the B roads match up with our state/county highways. To be sure, there are some lanes where you wouldn't want to...

    M75 is finally home !!!!!!!!

It appears to be a German license plate on the back.

    Austin Texas Veteran's Day parade

Impressive lineup! And the lead vehicle was an M37, too! It don't get no better'n that! :)

    American Flag

That's a nice thought, but not all our members are Americans. If we "flew" the American flag on the web site, would we not have to "fly" their national flags as well?

Proper Display of the US Flag on my Deuce for Parades?

AGREED! Fly it right or don't fly it at all.

    Thanks Lifer!

Thanks to all you guys for the good words! You're way too kind! As for the GA rally, it kinda snuck up on me. CinC House and I have been up to our eyeballs in paperwork aimed at getting into our "new" house. You wouldn't believe all the hoops you gotta jump through to get an FHA loan...

    User CP question.

If you're talking about the little green squares under our data boxes, I've been trying to figure out what they mean and how they get there, too. Like you, I've had no luck at all.

interesting idea - German WWII prime mover

Yeah...but the ICC would love you! Having the weight of the truck and its load spread out over 30 wheels instead of 10 would please them no end. ;)

Anyone else see that torpedo boat?

Because you'd need a deuce (if not a 5-ton) to pull it! ;)

    Where are the requirements?

I've wondered that, too. I think the "Forum Rules" should be a locked thread, accessible only by the site administrators/moderators. As far as I can tell, the site rules are contained in the first post. After that, it's nothing but a string of people introducing themselves with an endless...

    Search function useless?

Yep! It's all in how you phrase your question and how the other guy phrased his post. Boolean logic works well. :)

    Lackland AFB Family Day C5

Hmmmm! A Strata Blue CUCV sure would be pretty, but it wouldn't be "correct." By the time they came into service, the AF had switched to plain OD for its tactical vehicles. Shortly thereafter, they started "upgrading" them to the 3-color NATO woodland camo pattern.
