    Jedawson1 M37 preservation/restoration

Thanks Storm 51, I logged in to G741 and will likely start a similar thread there focused more on just the truck. Here are some more pictures, I've been on Kyle to label bolts and for the most part he's been doing it. Kyle just gets ahead of himself, especially when he feels there is...

New old guy from Linden TN

Greetings from Murfreesboro TN, I believe the term is "halfback". Yankee's move down to Florida realize how hot and expensive it is and move halfway back.

    Jedawson1 M37 preservation/restoration

What would you do with this? Cross member is in good shape on the outer sides, rivets seem tight, only rust is where the top to bottom seam. I was thinking of spraying the inside of it with some POR until it drips from the seams? I just don't want to worry about rust going forward. I just...

Oh and the filler opening on the gas tank is gummed up with a red substance, curious what the inside of the tank looks like. Truck was sitting for three years prior. Hoping vinegar and steam wash will take care of the build up.

    Jedawson1 M37 preservation/restoration

Kyle disassembled the entire bed, now to remove the gas tank and bumperettes. I've got to locate replacements for the rear and forward most cross members, mine are too rusted I think. All the other parts are in great shape, just needs blasted and paint. I'm thinking about blasting then...

    Jedawson1 M37 preservation/restoration

Should be getting some pictures with Kyle this weekend. On another note, I found a mobile sandblaster locally that charges $150 an hour, sound better than days behind a sander or grinder with a wire wheel, that means Kyle and I can focus on the mechanical aspect a little more. Rear Axles and...

    Jedawson1 M37 preservation/restoration

Hello All, here is my story: I purchased this April of 1951 M37 from a gentleman in VA with the help of fellow SS MadDawg. Its a solid truck, but the previous owner had an unfortunately medical issue that forced him to leave the truck parked outside for 3 years under tree's. With that...

M923A2 500 miles away. Plan on driving home from sale- PLEASE ADVISE!!

Search this site for "Inspection Indianapolis or Indy". You will find a guy Bob I believe, he inspected one of the trucks I picked up from Indy. It will save you from buying a bunch of batteries and fluids on a maybe need. He'll give you a good idea of what you're dealing with, he reasonably...

Thousands of HMMWV may actually be sold to public; not a rumor

If they were selling as is on GL today I wouldn't pay more than 10k to 15k for a good runner. If they bring them to modern dot standards they wouldn't be worth a penny to me. Plenty of other good 4x4's on the market for the money, if it isn't motor pool it holds no value to me. What do you...

How do you protect your Truck from the elements?

Subscribed. Great question, would suspect a surplus tent of some sort, but that's not exactly hurricane rated.

    R.I.P.--INSANEJECKE--Josh Duncan

Mr. Duncan could just have easily shot and killed both of the jewelry store employees. He had a good heart or it would have ended with more dead than just himself. My wife and I are having issues with a big box cable company here locally and she looked right at me and said I can see why...
