Denton NC Spring Rally 25-29 April 2018

I'd like to have some kind of tag. As for the firewood, Pat will possibly not be at the rally at all this year due to knee surgery. If he is there I'm sure it will be in limited capacity.

I'm actually looking to buy one. You have one?

    M1079 van body on M1078

OK gotcha. So it feels almost too stiff right now? My main use would be to put some basic amenities in it to use it as an RV and mobile ham (radio) shack. I would like to do that in such a way that the interior could be easily removed or rearranged in case I need to actually haul things inside...

    M1079 van body on M1078

No, I wish they were. I could have gotten them actually before that section was scrapped, but like I said I never imagined they were different. I didn't spot the 2mm difference LOL. Kicking myself now, but hey, it happens. I can probably save enough weight that it won't matter, but I would like...

    M1079 van body on M1078

OK that explains why I couldn't tell a difference. Happen to know a good source for a pair? If I pull the bed, then I think the difference with the box wouldn't be that much. As long as I don't load the box up with heavy stuff then maybe it would still be OK.

    M1079 van body on M1078

That one lists two part numbers: - 12422509 UOC: LAD, LWD - 12422510 UOC: LAA, LAB, LAC, LWB, LWC Edit: found the above codes in the -10 manual. The LAD and LWD are M1079 and M1079 w/winch. 2nd Edit: I would be curious what the difference between them is. I wonder if the heavier rating one...

    M1079 van body on M1078

In the one TM, 9-2320-365-34-2, in Appendix F, there is a singular NSN for a flat spring (5360-01-360-2023). What is the NSN for the heavier spring?

    M1079 van body on M1078

Is there a different NSN for the two truck springs? To my poorly calibrated eyeballs they look the same on both trucks. That difference seems like it would be the difference between a 2.5 ton and 5 ton rear.

    M1079 van body on M1078

Yeah I'll try to get some pictures, but it might be a while. The components are already off the M1079 so I can't show how they are installed yet.

    M1079 van body on M1078

It's funny you should ask. I am actually sort of working on this, and I am part of the way there. My truck is not an A1, but it is a winch truck. I think that would make a nice combination! I have the van enclosure, frame rail, and wiring. There are more differences than there seems at first...

Denton NC Spring Rally 25-29 April 2018

That would be awesome. Maybe we'll get info soon on the prices. The last airshow I was at it cost either $250 or $350 for a short ride in one, as best I can remember.

Jim Henry's guy works on generators so you might be able to get some assistance that way if nothing else.

    Air Brake Info and Troubleshooting

I did have a leak from that same vent, but it wasn't a huge leak. Mine turned out to be one of those 3 two-way check valves behind the driver's side step. If you have already replaced yours it could be something else. How long ago did you replace them? It could be worth a sanity check to take...

    Air Brake Info and Troubleshooting

The park valve will not stay depressed unless you have adequate air pressure. It works as a fail safe in that regard. Pressure drops and the valve pops. The valve might be fine and the problem just that you can't build enough pressure in the system. How much pressure do the front and rear brake...

    FMTV with Shelter, which model?

I'd like to see pictures of that setup (the hand crane in the shop).
