Rich, Old equipment is the best. No computer, elctronics, etc. BS. When something goes it is real easy to figure it out. Try that with a newer machine loaded with "Gizmos". Yeah they run great when everything is working. When it comes to a breakdown. Well that's a whole other story, just...
The REB was a kit that Memphis used to sell. It added a shift lever on the left of the tranny tower. It made it so you could put it in gear and not shift up or down by itself. When you wanted to go higher or lower you moved the lever to change gears. As I remember it with the kit you could...
While grabbing stuff. On the back of each plate on each side of the winch plates.....there is a piece that is between the plate and the frame, it's a spacer, grab that. After you take the bolts out that hold the winch it is just one bolt that holds that to the frame on each side. People will...
RE: Re: RE: turbo vs non-turbo
Only one of mine is a NA and I like it the way it is. For the most part it does the same as the rest. And I do like to see the smoke when it's pulling 20 ton down the road at 50MPH. Just like you smoke out bees. I try to smoke out the bunny huggers........
The winch is an everyday Garwood. No problem finding that. Let me see if I still have the cab controls kicking about. DO NOT ever get rid of that ACC. drive unit. You can still find PTOs for the old GMCs finding that secondary unit, forget about it. That's a keeper.
Yes, get the right driveshaft for the M35. I have taken them off M135s and put them in M35s. The handle you can buy. If it still has the two plates, one on each side of the winch from the old truck, you don't need them. But DON'T get rid of them. Someone will want them.
I have the CD dated 2006. Add to Kenny's numbers the following:
2320-209-10-1
2320-209-10-1HR
2320-209-10-2
2320-209-10-3
2320-209-10-4
LO 2320-209-12
Unless they didn't change any from the last. Which means I just wasted my time putting this in.
You know David......one of those trucks would easily have fit on your M127. The most you may have to do is take the top down. But I doubt you'd need to do that.
Gene and I spoke about it. He's alot closer than I. So I let go of it. Don't know if he got it. He's about 175 miles from it and I am about 1425 miles. If there were any troubles he could solve it easy than I could due to distance.
Something Chambersburg and some other bases do. Drain everything. I mean everything. If it's a fluid they drain it. Have never been given a good answer to why it's done.
None of my tires are balanced on ANY of my trucks. I have no problem. My 2 pennies are check to see if you lost weights from the driveshafts. That and make sure all is hooked up right and tight in the driveline. Check to see if you have play on shafts at the transfer case.
Hear ya there. I've backed doubles before, never triples. Although back in the good ole days...I do remember every now and then backing up a baler with a hay wagon hooked to the baler. I wonder if I could have done it with two wagons on the back??? Someday I will have a dolly or two. someday.
