I use BG a little hard to find. I use 2 stroke oil in my tractors. if you use it on road be sure it does not have a red dye. The tax boys will have a long talk with you.
You could go for a long time with no lights or heater, just starting it a couple of times a day. The problem is the front battery will run down first and cause more problems. Could shorten the life of the starter. It would be way cheaper to fix it so it works like it was intended.
It should not run. Alternators have to have DC voltage to make AC voltage which is then changed to DC voltage to charge the batteries. When you unhook the battreies that all stops and usually destroies the altrenator diodes. That said the solinoid in the injection pump that lets fuel to the...
As mentioned earlier use a test light or amp meter, voltage is not a measure of current flow. Most current draw problems I have found on CUCVs have been on the 12 volt side. Good luck
The mechanics I have worked with said they carried what they needed for their job not always a set as issued. They also said the best equiped trucks were the combat engineers.
I had pictures of mone when I got it, Yes it was loaded. They were on my profile but have disappered in the change over. I'll see if I still have them. I have a Miller XMT300 with a bad board, quit in the middle of a job. If anyone is interested PM me.
Got one I think it is to flimsy to take trans and tcase as a unit. Work pretty good on atrans by it's self, if that is what you got it is way better than just a floor jack. It does require the truck to be jacked up quite a ways, probably 8 inches higher than a real Transmission jack.
I got mine from Northern Tool, it's the same thing you see on the front bumper of any wrecker. It is hooked to the front battery. I;ve got extra slave connectors but was not comfortable with them on 12 volts because somebody will plug them to 24 when I'm not looking. So this way there is no...
NO but I put a commercial 12 volt slave port with a set of 30 foot jumper cables just under it on the grille gaurd. I use my truck for what it was built for (service truck). So at times I have to be able to jump 24 volt tractors and 12 volt trucks. It keeps the hood closed and no wrong connections.
880's don't have lockup converters. So if you have one the trans has been changed. They are as simple as it gets, my guess would be the vacume advance. Drove mine for 20 years only big problem was the amp meter.
