    Just changed the 1031 GPs to 12 volt (bypassed the resister), now it takes forever to cycle. The wait light stays on for 45 sec. and the relay kicks out at about a min. The truck works fine with the resister hooked up, checked plugs and they are good. Whats Up? I have read GP posts for the...

    The 1031 only gets 10 mpg with all the junk I got on it, weighs about 9K. Same price , so that is not a factor, am leaning toward the 6.2

    Painting over chrome???

    Many years ago (20+) I wrecked my 880 and could not find a bumper that was not chrome. So I got a power sander and some 200 grit wet and dry, wet sanded just to rough it up. Used a good primer and put the OD to it. It still has not come off. Good luck

    Welcome. The first time GL is a little rough, but it gets better. I love my contact truck, I got a 2 ton service truck and except for the crane the contact truck is way better. Look me up if you get up past Tulsa

    Just tryng to give everybody a heads up. It was china made about half as heavy as OEM. Tied down as original. Broke at the nut buy the oil filter. I have been an ASE Master Tech for over 30 years. Parts house is trying to get the manufacturer to buy me a long block

    Caution Oil Cooler Lines. Had one leaking needed truck bought after market, end broke off on interstate at 50mph. Cooked 6.2 before I could shut it down. Lasted 150 miles.

    No , I hauled 2 for our fire dept. used a 8 x 24 goose neck and used most all of it. Don't remember the width but it was close to 8 feet.

    Not that I could find, used a Reese with a few modifications to the hitch I was able to keep everything the way it was. The biggest problem was finding one that fit right under the bumper fost are for bumpers with 4 or 6 inch drop
