Your correct, it is a D turbo. The bracket you are refering to in the last pic holds one of the legs for an M66 ring mount.

My local NAPA had one in stock for about $30, If NAPA doesn't have one I would try looking at a heavy truck shop.

I'd be tempted to jump on 11 of the 1100/20s if I lived closer, but the shipping would kill the deal.
