New starter installed. Plugged the filter leak.
I have fuel out of the vent on the top of the filter.
Jumped the injector pump and turned it over.
No go. Pulled #2 fuel line at the injector and no fuel out of the line.
Guess it is time for injector pump. Thinking about the 6.5 pump. I...
Just need to plug the hole.
I am not sure if my injector pump is good or not as the truck it came off of has been sitting for several years.
I checked and I can get a rebuilt 6.2 pump for around $350. Might be able to get a 6.5 pump for the same.
Starter needs rebuilding and then we will see.
Got the key, Thanks. Works great. This is a learning curve on the CUCV / 6.2.
Any idea on the thread pitch for the drain plug? I tried several bolts, plugs, etc and nothing seamed to work.
I am going to need a starter. The one I have kind of drage and it just will not bust off.
I am loosing fuel out of the bottom of the silver fuel filter thing on the firewall.
Is there some type of drain on the bottom or is there something else wrong?
The truck had all the fluids drained including a drill hole in one of the freeze plugs.
Is there a second fuel filter on the truck? On...
Can someone post me a picture of the top of the motor?
Everything is removed from the truck. I have a civi motor out of a 82 suburban I am trying to strip and swap parts over.
The fuel system / filters are different.
Is there some type of reoccurring problem with the intake on the 6.2’s.
I went by my source and picked up a M1009 but the intake and injector pump have been removed. He had 4 other trucks and they were all the same, intake removed and sitting on top of the motor. 2 had the injector pumps on...
RE: studs and nuts
I wouldn't put anything on the threads. Just wire brush the rust off.
We had a discussion about this a while back talking about wheel spacers and lug nuts. The manufactures recommend anti-seize on the studs / nuts. Main problem is to tork to proper specs and not just...
When I put my muffler on I had found one at a local muffler shop that was a little shorter and bigger around. I opted for the NAPA. I then noticed that part of the can on the NAPA is not insulated which caused the paint to burn off. When I do another truck I am going to look a little more and...
I can say it makes a lot of difference. Sound wise it is possible to go to town w/o hearing protection and still here when you get here. I still wear protection most of the time and make the kids wear it but it is that much quitter. If you mount it low watch out for the windshield wing nut...
Ok now I am really confused. I flipped the fan around when I had the radiator out. (right way?) My truck has been down until today, about a month. When I got my radiator back the upper neck was leaking so I pulled the radiator again and had it re-soldered. When I put it back in the radiator...
I am going in the morning to look at them. A key would be nice. If they all use the same one I might get lucky and find a key in one. My plan is to put a 59 Willies wagon on the running gear and scrap the body. I would love to keep a complete truck but it's a no go.
Can someone post a picture of which wire on the 6.2 injector pump (blazer)needs to be hot for it to run?
Other than the injector pump wire is there anythin else on the 6.2 that needs to be hot for it to run?
I am going to look at a couple trucks and I know they don't have keys and I need to jump...
