    What goes here?

Ok, I see what you mean. So would you leave the hole open or install the metering valve?

    What goes here?

On the TM it shows a drawing of the "breather" and instructs you to remove it when taking things apart and to replace it upon reassembly. I can't find a part number for it though. After disassembling the shaft, I can see from the hole where the grease zerk is installed, out through the hole in...

    What goes here?

The more I look into this, the more inclined I am to agree with you. But I am curious why the TM indicates there is a breather or relief valve there.

    What goes here?

I removed the propeller shaft between the transfer case and the front rear differential so I could remove the parking brake shoes. On the end of the tube facing the parking brake drum is a hole. The TM states that there is supposed to be a "breather" there. Does anyone know what this is and...

This is the fill plug and its on the passenger side. Capacity is 7 qts. The information you seek is in TM 9-2320-361-24-1. See note 5 near the end.

    In-tank fuel pump

These pumps have been available for years and have been mentioned here several times. I have one in my deuce and it works great. Just wondering why you went with the Rube Goldberg setup instead?

Gear Oil Leak Under Drivers Side

Yes, it was leaking from the same spot. I used a power grease gun and pumped in 2 or 3 tubes of grease through the drain hole. Can't remember exactly how much but it's not super critical.

Gear Oil Leak Under Drivers Side

Mine does the same and there is no easy fix. I read the TM and some threads on rebuilding and decided to drain and refill mine with corn head grease. No more leaking. By the way, that's some nasty looking grease coming out of yours. It's probably never been changed.

Fuel filter Tec tip of the day.

Now I'm confused- are you recommending using the 6 micron Wix in both of the secondary filters? Does the 33540 come with the correct gaskets/seals? Thanks.

soft brakes, and some more newbie questions

There are metal ducts behind the dash below the windshields. The under-hood heater brings heated air into the cab via a hose and 90 deg metal elbow. Another hose moves the air to a diverter mounted on the firewall. Two smaller (3") hoses go to the defroster vents. Depending on position of a flap...

$150/gal radar absorbing paint is bull****.

soft brakes, and some more newbie questions

Have you checked to make sure air is getting to the wipers? New metal ones are around $95. There are a number of threads about them- there is a mod to convert the blades to civy ones which work much better. If I remember correctly, they cannot be lubricated.

    Drove the Deuce...Some questions

Interesting- I'm getting ready to reline my parking brake but haven't bought any parts yet.

Anyone here ever removed this thing?

I took mine off- it got in the way of the new insulation.

    1987 M35A2C Fuel Filters Change

Ooh, I see what you're saying- seems like folks have used just about anything flammable in a spray can! Actually I have spray silicon too but never thought about using it to start the engine.
