    Mep-018a genset parts

I certainly hope among the 2 4a84 motors I have has the carb that you need. The original motor is a 1969 model.

    Load Bank?

Wow, 60kw gen. That puts a new spin on it. You would be able to have a shrimp boil in your pool if you were able to string enough water heater elements to load up that beast.:-P

    MEP-831A Inverter Cleaning

The location of the inverter cooling fan is in location that will certainly allow wind blown dust to be picked up easily. I wonder how many inverters we burnt up by this fresh air port be obstructed by something. Would have thought "do not block" would have been stenciled on this port just to...

    Auction Question

Only takes two, but that is ridiculous. I hope for whomever's sake that they find gold bar in fuel tank.

    Load Bank?

Resistance to ground will be way less than a heater element which with 5500watt element will be 11-12 Ohms. Resistance to ground/pool water will be way less should be -0- but IEEE recommends less than 5 ohms resistance. I too use a cook stove as load bank for my 803. I even use it for 120vac...

    Load Bank?

That sounds scary. The whole element need to be submerged or it will burn out, this will put live conductors within really close proximity with water. Could mount termination box in watertight box and submerge whole thing as long as you put in on GFCI breaker. Might be better to mount elements...

    Fuel Pumps and Fittings MEP-803a

None of the 80x generators I have/had came with inline fuel filters. Not a bad idea, but nothing I have seen with ones I have crossed

M8xx series vs m9xx series off roading

Careful what kind of question you ask here, might start a battle between the 8xx and the 9xx's. So far it has been civilized in responses, but could change:-P. As far as ability's I'd say fairly equal. In my case came down to what was available at time of my purchase, and the primary fact is...

    Auction Question

Daybreak thank you for your post. I did not realize gov planet would attempt to fill with fluids. Still scares me, but at least they are not cranking over on a machine with no lube oil. As always you provide great and detailed information. We do appreciate it.

MEP 831a dies when slave cable is removed

AV10 is correct. Battery may be more than just dead. May be using all the voltage your charging circuits provide. Mine actually has plastic terminals that you can attach battery connection to so they don't short.

    Auction Question

That is one reason I would be apprehensive of gov planet gen sets. I had rather not have one they have started or attempted to start. Most of these units are drained of fluids and doubt seriously that the guy taking pics will be as nearly a thorough as I will be before I ever toggle a switch...

MEP 831a dies when slave cable is removed

Without 24vdc for fuel pump generator will not likely stay running. They will run without controls as long as magnet is released from target on electronic governor.

    Mep-018a genset parts

Would be a bit of a swim. I have one more week of fun in sun. I will take pic as soon as I get home. :)

I hate to even post this, but I'm at a loss attaining insurance on my M931A2

My 813a1 is tagged in Oklahoma, have regular liability thru OK farm bureau. Cost me a whopping $61 every 6 months. Never even occurred to me to get full coverage. I know with older muscle cars, not many companies would insure due to them being next to impossible to repair. Any damage results in...

    Mep-018a genset parts

I am offshore but have a carb that I pulled off of a brand new unit. Can't say for sure if its gaskets are dried out but has never had gas in it (still had preservation tag on it.

    Issues with SF-97

When I got my title for my 813 it was dated just a few weeks before (-0- penality) not when I made purchase which was in march and I got title in July. Don't know if it is normal, but I am glad.

    MEP-831a help cranks won't start.

Guyfang is right on in the K15 is 120vac coil and the rest are 24vdc. I've had 3 of these and 2 had the with the relays swapped. If I were having this issue, I would likely just lift the linkage from the electronic governor to the so the the only electronics that the unit requires to be in use...

    MEP-831a help cranks won't start.

That would been my next question, compression. If you have fuel and air, only thing left. These units will run without any control's as long as magnet releases. Low compression will definitely prevent you from starting.

MEP 831 FAQ for owners or potential buyers

I would concur with boatman69. You will get more participation/help on dedicated thread.
