What other trick stuff should I be doing!
I know what I want to do but it is proving hard. I want to mimic Soni's
sun-visor but no love on buy'n the parts... I'll get-er done some day I guess, some day when
the hood is not 170 degrees scalding hot.
You guys should hold off on buying...
Nope, It is 1". I already have it off ;-) and I already placed a McMaster order for
heavy rubber cap for the 1" OD plenum outlet that needs to be capped
and a 1" NPT x 1" barbed fitting. I have 1" NPT brass fittings in stock, looks like about
a 4" nipple and a 90 and a close nipple and a 45...
OMG! So just remove that, looks like a 1" NPT flush plug that has a 1/2" drive recessed square
head and connect that the to compressor inlet? SWEET! That will be a fun upgrade!
THANK U !
HA!
Does anyone have the Condenser un-mounted and handy and can
you do a little recon please?
I was just told that there possibly could be 24V relays, maybe 2 of them,
in the condenser fan brain boxes. Can you take a large format picture
please that shows part numbers please? Mine is on the roof...
I reworked some more grounds, and dam good thing I did.
If you have one of these trucks you might want to check a couple of these issues.
The cab to frame ground at the cab was on TOP of a wiring harness clamp and
Between the clamp and the firewall was a really thick layer of CARC so the...
I just spoke to a guy named Rick at www.americanpowerinc.com tech support.
He knew exactly what's up. I told him about the cheap A$200.00 ALT / used BE
trick and I asked about just adding a DCUPCON and it was all shoot down and quickly at that.
He was not trying to "sell me " either! As a...
I have details on the 24V RD-2-4617-0(p) system if it helps.
It is very close I think.
Condensor Fans = 6.2Amps EACH = 12.4AMPS
Evaporator Blower Motor = 14.5AMPS
Compressor Clutch = 1.7AMPS
If you look on the PS of the evap box you see a 30AMP 24V...
Don't forget that any trailer lights pull off the 24V side too !
How many amps will a normal trailer pull? THAT has to be considered
if NDT's solution is used. So a 30AMP DCUPCON is not big enough.
How many amps will a normal trailer pull?
NDT your opinion is super valuable to me.
Have you nailed down what DC Up Convertor your going to use and how much is it?
Are you going to keep the OE ALT and TR in place?
WAIT, if we send our OE ALT's to get the stator bumped up to 160Amps for $80.00 plus
ride providing our ALTS do not have...
I FOUND IT ON ANOTHER PAGE !

I thought we were talking about the 250Amp unit though.
250 \ 2 = 125Amps left if your pulling 50Amps on...
I finally got the Compressor 90's that AP=AIR sent and was a total POS. JUNK, threads cut buy
some guy in a bamboo leantwo using Panda teeth to cut the threads.
How may days ago did I originally order that stuff? No ones cares anymore, it is absolutely sickening.
The compressor 90's do a great...
Then all's I can do is punt because when they wrote me back they
sent me to the link I give in post #143 . Click on that link and look
at the pricing, I am probably wrong, it needs to be investigated.
I am too frazzled to deal w/ that now.
Trying to reinvent the wheel, once again, is proving challenging, for me. I wish I was
made of money, I would have been done by now. Trying to save a buck sucks.
This requires a full blown career vehicle electrical systems engineer.
I hate electricity! I am getting burnt out on this.
Here is...
There is a guy on Ebay selling USED 52210 Battery Equilizers ( BE )
I guess he has a bunch of them for $200 EA.
He is willing to lower the price "IF" there were a group buy.
(Some of you know I have been doing group buy ins for GL items, I can do this if it looks good )
Here is what I...
Nope.
That is for a 12V ALT and they word it tricky. (good advertising ALWAYS pisses someone off)
When you write them after reading the fine print you are sent to a page where
you get hosed. Here, get the lube and click HERE.
Thank U CB
Were learning more everyday here.
The crank pulley is about 10" OD
The ALT Pulley is about 3.5" OD
The center to center of the pulleys is about 13"
So at 1800 Engine RPM's the ALT will be spinning at about 5142.857
