What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

There is no doubt I would love to own a wrecker. I do not think it will ever happen or if it were to happen it will not be for some time. That will not stop me from adding a few things I like about the wrecker to my M925A1 though~! I want a vise, maybe two vises up front on the winch...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

VERY Nice ZeBE! I have been looking at my spades (yes for my M925A1 ) and considering where and how to strap them to my truck. Certainly I do not have a 45K rear winch but in the dunes they might come in handy some day. I have the straight and the angled "receivers" for them I need to mount...

WSUCougar's M925A1 Acquisition and Build Thread

Awsome as always Mike! It would be even moreso if it had one* of those new front winch bumper Vise Mount Kits a SS member is fabbing up and thinking about peddelin' for dolla's or parts. I heard the guy wants some of those sweet door battle locks ! :tank: *or two, they will fit PS and DS, DS...

Tim can you explain the parafin wax method please? I will add that "PB BLaster" now sold at Home Depot works well, espically if a guy can pre-soak the offending hardware a week or more in advance... Wax? Teach me bro...

    M923A1 Business Advice

Individual seats w/ seat belts a must. Each seat properly attached to the floor. No troop seats, too easy for people to bang there heads together. That is one reason why helmets are required atire in tactical vehicles I thunk! Egress and Degress via proper steps WITH proper guard rails. I mean...

    New guy from CT! M923

Bummer about the engine... looks like it is all there otherwise. Maybe buy another truck just fo rthe running engine and part out the balance? You might actually make money if the trans and TC are good and sell. Good Luck!

Want to put A/C in a M925A1... anyone got pictures of their install?

Just set up a scaffold outside so you can lay down. Perhaps cantilever the boards over the door jamb lip or set the top of the deck height the same as the jamb lip or close, then raise the truck floor a tad w/ moving blankets. A pita, yes, but if there is a lot to do it would be worth it...

Is it a missing; SPRING BRAKE WARNING LIGHT SWITCH - Activates warning light when spring brakes are engaged Does the red light flash when you set the e-brakes on the dash? If not I might be onto something. Start reading TM / 24-1 on page 67, at page 75 i think I saw your missing deal...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

When my needle is about done bouncing off "E" I pull over to get fuel and I think the most it will take is about 55 gallons or so. The book says it is an 81 gallon tank so I assume there is a good 25 or so useable gallons left in the tank...we will be sure to have pleanty of jerry cans full...

    M925a1 wiring diagram

I took one out, rapped it against my desk trying to extract crap. I guess I should just throw parts at it to be safe. I know for a fact my truck "sat" for a long time. When I pulled the fuel filter you can see a DEFINATE line of rust inside it where water rausted the housing. little by...

    M925a1 wiring diagram

My low air warning is not turning ON regularly. It seems to have a mind of its' own. I can only start throwing parts at it when I can. Sometimes the low air light comes on, other times it does not. This is bad, I want to fix it .

    m939 series schematic

Money is tight right now, normally I would just throw new parts at something like this since it is a safety device and parts are old'er' . TM 23-1 had a troubleshoot and I did it and I "think" my issue is the failsafe warning control module. Sometimes the Low Air light comes on, and some...

    m939 series schematic

Here is a partical schematic I found. The green arrows point at the two low air switches. I tested them w/ the OHM meter on 200 and it read .3 The TM says if it is other than 300 ohms the air switches are bad. I do not know if .3 = 300 or what...for alls I know I have 2 bad low air...
