    M923 a1 suburban concepts

You might look at a cab from a commercial truck. More likely to fit the frame rails and openings for tires. If I had the shop space and skills I always thought it would be cool to put an old cabover sleeper cab on a military vehicle.

Towing Opinions. I think I know the answer.

It will pull it, but it won't like it. I've crossed the scales at DRMO in an M818 grossing over 100,000 pounds pulling an old boxcar on a lowboy. I had an MP escort and never got out of low range but pull it she did.

Dimensions of a M928 XLWB cargo bed

Sounds like you need an ISO bed I have a 20 foot ISO bed for sale. Just like that one. Came off a Marine Corps truck I scrapped out.

Has anyone ever just put a camper shell on a deuce instead of modifying a M109?

Looks like it would be a booger to change a tire on unless those rails unbolt easily.

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

Jim......years ago there was a guy near me that had one in three color camo and it looked really good but I'm not sure if any of the M275's were in the inventory when the three color camo was in use. These tractors were usually used to pull shop or command vans with. I don't think they were used...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

I think I drove it to the Kennesaw rally pulling a trailer but I could be mistaken. My memory is as short as everything else I got.:shrugs: If you want that trailer Jim you can have the lights when you come pick it up. If there is anything else deuce related around the warehouse I'll either...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

Are you going to keep the old style lights? I meant to tell you I have some of the newer ones that I would have thrown in with the deal.

M1009 possessed by Satan still won't start

The demon has been cast out!!!! My son and I performed an exorcism today and the infernal contraption is now moving under it's own power again. The fuel shutoff solenoid was the culprit but here is "the rest of the story". The new solenoid was slightly longer than the old one and I had to...

M1009 possessed by Satan still won't start

I had already found the exploded view and printed off three different views of it to take to NAPA with me. I got an email from Accurate Diesel that said the part shipped today. Should have it by Friday or Saturday depending on Snail Mail. Thanks for the assist.

    Ultimate 5 ton tractor

I have a 20 foot dropside ISO bed off of a Marine Corp M927 that I reverse engineered. It may or may not be for sale since I'm thinking about putting it on my M927A2 if I take the short dropside bed and 5th wheel off. If I put it on the M927A2 then the 16 foot dropside bed will be for sale.

M1009 possessed by Satan still won't start

M1009 possessed by Satan still won't start

Knowing what I went through just to get that cover off I can tell you now that before I replace that IP there will be a major reverse engineering of that smug chunk of green iron. For 3 grand I'll pass it on to some hardy soul that has a higher frustration factor than I do.

M1009 possessed by Satan still won't start

Today I went five rounds with this wretched imp of Beelzebub and again it defies me. I've gotten advice from several members here :recovry4x4::gimp2: and I thank them for putting up with my incessant carping. I've narrowed the problem down to the fuel solenoid shutoff that is inside a cover on...

Got a new (M275 Tractor) project a few weeks ago

Jim....thanks for the kind words. My hope is that you can use the engine that is in there but she had been sitting for a while. You might be able to get a good pull out with turbo for less than the cost of redoing the NA engine. Once you get her running and driving please address that awful...

    cold starting

DING, DING, DING!!!!!!!!!! We have a winner. When I was in Korea we let the HEMMET's run all night when we were out in the field running missions if the weather was sub-zero. Easier on starters and batteries and Uncle was buying the fuel. We idled them up to prevent them from slobbering.

Hemit thinking about getting one need info

Big, loud and they suck fuel. They ride like an oxcart and require a lot of maintenance. If you ever have to replace all the tires at once you may have to take out a loan. The Detroit Diesel is a beast but don't ever run it out of fuel. The ones with the cranes are best. I drove them in Korea...
