    Where to find a M923?

I'm about eighty miles from Hotlanta and have two M927's (long wheel based version) if you are interested. My truck has a shorter bed installed with a 5th wheel behind it to pull the "Shaggin Waggin". I'll make you a sweet deal on both.

    back-up camera

I just keep backing until I hear a loud crunching or yelling. :naner::naner::naner:

    Camp Deuter

If it were me and I was going to live in the bed for a while I'd extend the bows up so you can walk upright. Take it from me, that bending and stooping to move around in there will get very old very fast. You could get a civy tarp that would cover the higher bows and make some end curtains...

Looking Front bull bar fab ideas

I'm thinking any critter that runs afoul of an 800 series truck is not going to fare very well with the stock bumper (moose or mule deer may be the exception). Unless you just want one for the cool factor or to push down trees stock is good.

    Camp Deuter

I lived in them in the Army. Good luck with that. In all seriousness it sounds like an adventure. Keep us posted on how it goes.

You'll get tired of that racket pretty quick. Ask me how I know.

    cummins 855 fuel button?

Driving a "HOT" diesel requires a special skill set to keep from destroying the engine. As stated above you need a pyrometer and you have to know when to back off the throttle. I once melted a piston because I was driving someone else's truck. These were company trucks and this bird didn't...

    CUCV recovery kit - recommendations?

Anything you don't bring you will need. Ask me how I know.:shrugs:

    M934 online bidding

The M934 has the same extended wheelbase as the M927/M928 with a reinforced frame. It has the turning radius of an aircraft carrier and is heavy. If you take it off road and get it stuck you will have to mortgage the farm to recover it unless you have someone close by with the means to extract...

    Gooseneck set up

Do you mean a setup where you can pull a gooseneck using the pintle hitch? If so there have been a couple posted on here but my search skills suck. Maybe one of the search gurus will post a link to one or more of them. I have a standard tractor trailer 5th wheel behind the shorter bed on my...

    Charging the batteries......

Ditto......I have two chargers so it takes less time. I disconnect them and charge them in place by setting the chargers up in the cab. I slow charge them and it usually takes a couple of days to do all four.

    xm818 bed opinions

Def a drop side deuce bed. You can remove the sides and tailgate and have a flatbed.

Bane of my existence... CUCV simply doesn't want to be cooperative.

It is my considered opinion that all CUCV's are wretched inventions of Satan that exist just to make someone lose their religion when attempting to work on them.:burn:

    Are M51 Parts Readily Available?

Memphis Equipment is also a good source for old parts but they are proud of their stuff.

This site is like CRACK! So, I bought a 5 ton....

The only difference between a crack binge and a green iron auction binge is that with the green iron binge you wake up with something to show for your money. :cookoo::shrugs: I made the mistake of looking at the total on my Government Liquidation spread sheet (shows all your purchases and how...

The 755 Dollar M54A2 Five Ton

Even with scrap in the crapper you got it for less than scrap value. That old Bulldog should serve you will. I think ya did good. Are you going to leave it stock or do some mods? It would look bad arsed with some super singles on it. Keep us in the loop.

About to buy first deuce - haul 12,000 lbs

I'd recommend a 900 series 5 ton with the 8.3 Cummins turbo diesel in it. The deuce will pull that weight but it won't like it. You will be a "Toad in the road" in traffic. The 900 trucks are flooding the market and you can get one for about the same price as a nice deuce. They also ride a lot...

HF542996 Power Steering conversion geometry questions, not run of the mill

The first thing I would do is try to make the cab raise up like a cab over road tractor. IMHO that would make most of the other mods a lot easier than working in tight quarters with the original configuration. It would also look a lot cooler at shows.....again IMHO. Your mileage may vary.

Cant find rear tailgate window glass...help

Since it is flat safety glass you can prob get one cut at a local automotive glass shop. You may have to have a template unless the deminsions are posted somewhere. Not sure if that would save you any money compared to buying one off ebray.
