GA 2011 Rally After Action Report

I'll be bringing some of these to the GA Rally (if they don't sell first). They were used to carry some field computer set up. The legs fold out of the lid and bottom of the box and hook to the upended middle section.

There has to be a better fuel pump!!!!!!!

The only thing that lies more consistantly than a career politician (Rep or Dem) is a MV fuel guage. When it hits half a tank I'm topping off unless I have ten gallons of fuel with me.

    Hello I am new to S.S. I have a m818 5 ton

Welcome to the Green Iron Laughing Accademy.:cookoo: You are in good company with the similarly afflicted. There are some good folks in your neck of the woods. The GA Rally is the premier MV event in the Southeast. Join the FL crowd that comes up every year. Be there or be...

At what point did the military rebuild older deuces

Vehicles that went through a total rebuild (refurbed engines, trannys, paint, etc) usually got zero hour and mile guages. Sometimes a speedo or tach would just go bad and they would replace it with a new one. Vehicles that idled a lot would have a disproportionate hour/mile ratio. If they...

    military version or civy conversion

There's more than one way to skin a cat......there's just no way to make him like it. Save the truck....worry about the title later. They are rare. In Alabama you can get a tag and registration (but no title) for any vehicle prior to 1976 with just a Bill of Sale. Check you local laws...

    Started the bobb job

On my bobber we removed the bed. I then took a big angle grinder with a thin cutting wheel on it and lopped off the rivet heads. Heat the metal around the rivet heads with the blue flame speed wrench and knock the rivets out with a punch and a BFH. For safety clamp the punch into a set of vise...

    M818 Tow Truck

A few years ago there were several gasser bridge trucks for sale on GL at Herlong, CA. It was like they came out of the Twilight Zone....all of them were complete and the discription said they were driven in. My theory is that they came from a CA National Guard Unit that was way down on the...

    heavy duty tow bar

The "Pucker Factor" was high during that incident......I tried to save money with cheap pins and almost lost a deuce. I was approaching an exit just north of Camp Shelby when the leg came off the tow point...the crossed tow chains saved the day....the deuce followed me like a lost puppy. The...

some thing to think about ?????

Lack of prior preparation................ One of the reasons I bailed on the M915's in Columbus OH, last week was a 1100 mile round trip to recover them. I seldom bid on anything that is more than a couple hours away due to recovery cost.
