It appeared that the line in the video was abandoned (or at least very under used).
They are pulling up abandoned lines in the US at an alarming rate due to the liability issues of leaving the rails and bridges in place.
I would love to put train wheels on a deuce and ride the rails.
Will this be a bob job?
If you decide you want a M105 bed I have one that has been sand blasted and painted an OD green color.
I did some patching on it but it is a decent bed.
I put a flatbed on my bobber instead of this bed.
Me and Tony Wright had the same problem trying to recover his wrecker and I had the same prob with my wrecker.
I bypassed the selector switch and replaced the fuel filter with a spin on (the replacement filters are over 50 bucks each at NAPA).
My gut feeling is that the seals in the manual...
Mike and I are planning to have the MKT (Meals on Wheels) set up again this year with many improvements in menu, seating (we may use the inflatable shelter as a mess hall) and KP conditions (hot water this year).
The free range possums are reproducing at a prodigeous rate....we should have...
I have decided that my tanker is too far gone to restore. It has severe rust issues and I have neither the time nor resources to try.
The 1200 gallon, two compartment, stainless steel tank is in good shape but all the atttached carbon steel is badly rusted.
The exception is the runners...
My first clue was when I pulled the dipstick out (after I had shut it down) and the level was still almost to the top of the oil pan.
If I had done my proper pre-start inspection (I was only going to move it across the yard) I would have found out the level was too high.
I had placed a...
I would say a tuned exhaust (header), porting the cylinders, valve job (to update for unleaded fuel) and maybe a updated carb system would be a start.
You might check to see if these engines were ever used for some high perfomance applications, if so there may be a source for parts that would...
As lothe as I am to admit it Murphy put a GA a$$wooping on me and Tony.
The first omen was trying to get a truck to jump start with. We tried just about everything on wheels inside the fence and finally got a CUCV to crank. It ran just long enough to get to the the wrecker and died, never to...
Fuel in the oil is what cause my 250 Cummins to run away, if I had not shut off the air it would have gone high order.
If it was sucking oil through the turbo there would be a very thick cloud of white smoke.
Unless the oil level is very, very high it will not cause a run away.
Could the...
There are tractor trailers delivering to Redstone GL almost daily.
I would try to find one that wants a backhaul out that way.
They have a ramp at Redstone so it could be loaded onto a regular stepdeck as opposed to a RGN.
They have a huge front end loader that could push it up on the trailer...
Since you are up in the cold belt I hope you got the highest Cold Cranking Amp batteries they had.
The cold can sap the batteries, thicken the oil and generally make a deuce hard to start.
I realize the deck is a little high but money is tight and the only way I am going to get a low deck trailer is build it myself.
There may be a way to lower the ride highth by putting lower profile tires on it. I plan to research this before I set my beaver tail.
By my measurements a deuce...
The two times I was at "Death by Creekside" I was on time for my appointment only to have to wait and wait and wait and wait while the GL guys searched for the items the people in front of me were picking up.
The second time I was having a snack in the breakroom and listening to the GL folks...
I have searched and looked through the thread archives and came up zippo.
I thought I remembered someone posting pics of a lowboy made from an Expando Van trailer. They had added a beaver tail, made from a deuce frame I think, and it looked factory built.
Can someone link me to it? I have...
