    Finding U6TL Battery

I have used a Werker brand battery from my local Batteries Plus+ store, they seem to be a good quality battery. I gave them my worn out 6TL interstates and they replaced them with their brand. I don't remember the price, but they were a direct crossover for the Interstate 6TL. I think they were...

Making your truck a tank, or converting your Deuce to a tracked vehicle

I had those quoted when my fire dept was building a new brush truck.....we were quoted approx 30k for a complete kit. That was for a 2006 F350, so I cant imagine what a set for a deuce would cost. Way cool, but way expensive......just my 2 cents worth. :)

    m915 recovered to Nebraska

reb87, does that truck have the Caterpillar transmission? Or is it the other transmission (name / model escapes me) I always wondered how those cat trannys performed in those trucks. I believe they were actually Cat Haul Truck transmissions? Nice pick up by the way, truck looks good!

    VIC-1 Installed....AWESOME!

Matt, If you want to get one, I would be more than happy to help you figure out what all you need, where to buy, and I will help you put the whole system in your truck if we can somehow get together somewhere someday. I owe you and your dad a favor for looking over my truck at GL earlier this...

What's this lever on column do?

Not too familiar with the 5 ton trucks, however, my friend just bought an M818...... I believe what you are describing is the "air hand brake" which allows you to apply and hold the service brakes on hills and such, rather than having to hold the foot pedal down. Its a handy device for starting...

    "Droopy" Wipers How to Fix?

I believe mine are plastic. The motors are rather small, narrow cylinder shape. They appear to be original to the truck. I`ll look into taking one off, maybe I can work it out. At the same time, I think I might price out new trico motors. I plan on having the truck for a very long time, might as...

    VIC-1 Installed....AWESOME!

the VIC-1 is a military system. I am not an expert on these by any means, but from my understanding, they were originally used in armored vehicles such as tanks and APC's, so that the crew members could communicate back and forth to increase their efficiency. The VIC-1 is first generation stuff...

    heater fittings

ah man I JUST did this mod and I cant remember what the sizes were. I`ll try to get some pics of my set up tomorrow. I do remember that they were easy to locate, I purchased nice new brass 1/4 turn valves and plugs at Home Depot. With all the fittings, elbows, valves, and some new hose I think...

    "Droopy" Wipers How to Fix?

Yes dm exactly, I am referring to the wiper "walking" down the window on the outside as I am driving. Eventually coming to rest at a perpendicular orientation in reference to the horizon. Totally annoying....need to fix it......driving me crazy. I was thinking about just replacing the wiper...

    Lego Deuce

Nice truck! You`re son has a real skill with those toys. I used to love Legos, the money I spent on that company as a kid, I could have my own motor pool full of deuces. The helo reminds me of an Mi-24 HIND.....nice work on the setup, very impressive!!

Hey all, Had a free day today so I decided it was time to work on the deuce. Installed my VIC-1 intercom kit and I am totally impressed. It was well worth the purchase price and effort. For anyone seriously considering the VIC-1 as a future mod for their truck, I would encourage you to do so...
