And slightly incorrect. The load transferred to the truck doesn't have a bearing on GVWR of the trailer. It's 24k period. Not 24k plus the 15% it places on the truck.
The pin weight 15-20% depending on trailer is so you can determine weather your hauler can handle the pin weight on its GAWR...
Here DOT watches for that kinda hauling. Driver with a pusher axle down or a pick-up hauling that load are sure signs. Not only is there a good chance being over-loaded but in this case the driver is probably not licensed for the weight. Your typical endorsement is up to 26,000.
So the...
It varies state to state, some by the lb some percentage. Connecticut is a percentage, New York by the lb. And all seam to have a bracket system in place.
IE 5-10% is one value 10-15% another per hundred lbs. New York adds a kicker for precentage over axle weight. So not only do you pay for...
Legally that trailer is over-loaded, best of luck when you run into a finicky scale clerk.
GVWR is 24k including the MT weight of trailer. Another note is Load trail uses safety chains rated at 26400. Your weight of 5 ton and trailer exceeds that number, so at least in a hitch failure...
Nice addition. Glad the trip went well. Good to have another in the state.
I hope you plan to change the color motif. Personally I can't stand that combo. I myself plan to return mine to standard 3 color.
Talk to you later.
Hope people take that to heart. That feller was lucky to live through the ordeal. Although a devils advocate may bring up the fact that had the chains not broke the trailer would have drug the Ford with it.
I find the complaints fall on par with the thought process much of America seams to have these days. Common sense is extinct, and there seams to be nothing of logic and sensible thought.
I only have one complaint about SS and this topic isn't one of them. I voted no and stated my previous...
Wrong time of the year to end up on Mr Santa Claus's naughty list.
I voted.
However is there anyway to have a random wanted add, along with the random classified ad?
If it's really an LB20 or Bravo trailer as we call it in the USAF it will sit farily level on a commercial semi. The USAF pretty much eliminated it's M series tractors years ago. Replaced by top-kicks, internationals, Ford's and now freightliners. It's straight 12 volt.
Realistic is what you...
That's where M920 owners keep a little bit of Bighurt envy. Laughing at it and enjoying their trip.
It's OK though cause Murphy has my back and gets even now and then...
Yeah, I'm having trouble finding funds for the LMTV cover is already an issue...
I should say funding cheaper shipping is the issue not the money.
I thought you picked that up? And from what we discussed last time, the price is well out of my price range.
Thanks, I am using a four point mount similar to Rob's however I think it will be similar to the unicat mount. quickfarms, I'm keeping my eye out for insulated containers.
Depending on if I use a container or a home made box, will greatly effect the pop up roof. Right now I am planning a pop...
Possible change in direction...
I realize this is in the 5 ton mod thread but I'm considering changing directions with my Expedition truck. No it didn't die I just have had other things on my mind.
If I didn't already post I lurk over on Expedition portal under the same user name.
Since I...
That's funny.
I had your company's website bookmarked for an axle when I was planning the SAS for my 98' K1500. Unfortunately I sold the truck before buying the axle...
Nice to know your a fellow SS member, I'll keep the bookmark.
I had a the same issue with my 9.75" rims, I think it's just the nature of the sidewall strength compared to the weight of the vehicle. HMMWV's have some weight on them.
