    Dipper cylinder seal replacement

You also didn't have to do it with my bad back, bad knees, and a hernia. There's a reason I have machinery that can lift stuff that I can't. Or at least shouldn't. Heck, I even used the pallet forks to load the cylinder (on a pallet) in the back of the pickup. Of course, there was no need for...

    Dipper cylinder seal replacement

As mentioned, I didn't have another SEE, or an HMMH, at the time so I used the tractor's loader. And a home built lifting apparatus. It would've required two people to remove it by hand. Anyway, found a photo which should explain how I did it. Getting the lower hose connection back in place...

    Dipper cylinder seal replacement

I didn't have any cranes (or another FLU) when having to remove mine, but using the tractor's loader worked well. Getting it reinstalled was a bit trickier when working alone, but not hard.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I dunno, Ahab. Looks like he did just about everything but clean the springs.

Hello all in the Unimog crowd

I remember that one. Welcome back.

Frozen valve on the SEE backhoe

It was the right side one of mine, but that depends on if you look at the vehicle from the rear in normal fashion, or from the front. Not that it matters. You got it working.

Frozen valve on the SEE backhoe

Not that I remember what those two valves look like, but if they're like the ones for the outriggers, in my case it was only a matter of removing the cap at the bottom and clean out a minute amount of debris. That spool could be pulled up, but not pushed down. Either way, as I recall, the swing...

Yeah, the tank and hose were taken from a tan FLU. I'm not hooking it up again as (so far) I've never had one freeze up even without any alcohol injection. It helps that it's dry here, and rarely gets down to -20. What did surprise me was how much oil was in the system. Guess that's a result...

Since the unloader valve on the remaining HMMH had been acting up for quite a while, when it quit completely it was time to do something. Didn't feel like spending some $200 just to see if the valve was indeed the problem, but found what seemed like a good replacement for under $40 on Amazon...

And now there's only one. Yesterday the nice one started it's journey to it's new owner in Texas, a Steel Soldiers member.

Same here, weeks or several months. Actually started one the other day that had been parked for several years, without priming it first. But, it was different when I had all the air leaks in the system on the Summer SEE. Once familiar with what all Bel-Metric has to offer and had replaced some...

Another what goes here question for Flu419

Thanks, Fixer. And now you may understand why I'm not married. Same girlfriend for many years though, and she has as many toys as I do. Just generally more expensive ones, and not as useful.

Realized that I screwed up. This was supposed to be posted here on the owner's thread. And....screwed up again. Was asked not to post for sale stuff here, and delete the post.

Another what goes here question for Flu419

Alright, I need some garage space and have decided to let one HMMH and the HME go. Figured I'd let the "family" here get a chance first, before advertising them for the world to see. Both are fairly well crammed into the garage, so I don't have many or great photos, but here's a taste for...

I started with a rear blade and the bucket on the tractor, then got a plow for the front of the tractor. Much better. That was followed by a snowblower for the Winter SEE and an 8-foot snow pusher on the Summer SEE. Definitely a noticeable improvement. Now there's a skid steer to run the...

Palletforks.com has/used to have them. But how do you plow with a bucket? For pushing snow I've found snow pushers far more efficient.

Have you verified that the switch on the clutch pedal makes contact? As I recall, it has to be activated for the splitter to change ranges. Then again, if the starter works, the switch probably does, too. Anyway, I would do/try/verify a LOT of things before tilting the cab.

I've used compressed air to blow any dirt off of the in-tank one. Mostly because on the SEE that has had issues with bacteria, the tank won't come off easily.

Yep, I'd check the strainer, and clean it. Quick and easy, and hopefully that's the problem.

Don't remember if the hoses would still drain or not, but either way I'd pull the reel (and hoses) off and take it to the shop that way. Anyway, if you remove one of the disconnects you'll find out if it'll drain the tank or not.
