My air compressor on my M1031 looks complete except for some parts that screw into the compressor head...looking at TM # 9-4940-562-23p.....i need parts 32 thru 35 or 33,48, 54 thru 56....not sure how to determine which group of parts i need ....or where to find them...mc master carr or some...
Got the generator running and working today....next step figure out the parts missing from the air compressor and get it working, its been a good weekend!
Thanks to all who offered advise it was very helpful

Does anyone know what voltage should be going to the Governor Actuator via wires #9 & 10?...wanting to check and see if gov . actuator is functioning or not...does'nt seem to be
thanks steve
switch tested fine when PTO knob pushed /pulled...i still cant help but wonder change out the switch and trying a normally closed switch?...would'nt that cause the light to be out when knob pushed in then light on when knob pulled out?
Installed new TC switch today, ran jumper wire from PTO switch to Drive indicator switch just to bypass the factory wire cause i had doubts and was hoping the wire was bad, but no luck PTO light still stays on unless i pull the blue knob to engage the pto...everything is wired normally open as...
Is the drive indicator switch picture posted in post #36 suppose to face the fire wall?...is there a rod or something suppose to strike the round actuator when tranny is engaged in drive?....if so mine has been rotated and isnt near anything....lots of work ahead but i will get this generator...
I googled the part # from the TM'S and a place called ralph's came up and says it has them so they are emailing me a picture to confirm and hopefully will have one on order today
First off i must say thank you guys for the knowledge and pictures you have provided...its been very helpful to say the least. Keith_j...the picture you posted of your TC neutral switch...what position was it in?...id guess 2H?...I havent checked yet but is there a parts store or other vendor...
Well so much for getting much done today...got called to work, thats what ya get for working for the Railroad, but anyways yes i found the relay i was asking about...i think my transfer case neutral switch is out of adjustment...took a picture of it when my TC is in "neutral" position...
Have some free time this afternoon to trace some wires , but have some questions...in the post #10 that keith_j posted where is the relay located that is pictured in the lower left?...it has wires from the drive switch indicator and transfer case neutral switch going to it?...next...
I know the PTO on our M1031's are a model TG series...but does anyone know the model number?...are they all the same models on the M1031's?...according to muncie they think i have a 1&4 assembly...which means the belly of the PTO is high and the center line of the rear output shaft is at or...
P.S....it is located on the PTO unit one wire going to it....just need to gently pop the cap off and you should be able to tell the color of switch
thanks steve
Can anyone with a m1031 with working generator crawl underneath their truck and check to see if the pto indicator switch is the same color as mine?....i ask because there are two different switches that could be used...normally open or normally closed...not sure which one i have but this one is...
I didnt move the jam nut when i removed the speed sensor...i re-installed it , i removed the indicator switch which has the ball on the end..i looked in the hole and saw the finger which would have contacted the ball end of switch, plus the blue pto knob was pushed in(off position)..light off...
I checked continuity on the switch...it seemed ok the first check but then checked it again and now nothing....i pulled the mag switch and this is what the tip looks like...is it suppose to be flush or is the probe suppose to stick out alittle bit from the end?
Yes if you look at my first post...it is located beside the blue knob bottom side of dash....i wonder if it was installed by the army to prevent someone from using the pto if they discovered the generator has having problems , but didnt take the truck out of service
I found a manual on muncies website on how to do a continuity check....this will be my first step to determine if the pto indicator lite is functioning correctly
