    Update... Put the old gauge in and it reads the same as the new gauge, so it wasn't broken. The sending unit made the difference. Still reads about 220 on both gauges while driving. I got my infrared gun and shot the thermostat housing after my test drive and still running. The aluminum housing...

    1986 M998, original gauges.... Radiator flushed, new thermostat. Temperature gauge never went above 160 deg. on the gauge. Cooling fan would engage on warm days. Replaced the gauge, but still not above 160. Replaced the temp sending unit, now it goes up to about 215-220 and stays in that range...

    Ongoing Log Of My 1987 HMMWV

    Just had a 700R4 with 4 speed shifter installed in my 998. WOW, what an improvement. For an apples to apples comparison at 55mph the 3speed was turning about 2700rpm and now it's about 2000-2100 rpm.

    17 inch wheels

    I have Black Rhino wheels with a -18 offset so they stick out about 2.5".... I think they also make 0 (zero) offset which should be like OEM.

    Checking the output voltage is easy and let's you know exactly what's going on. Adjust output to 28.8v on the 60amp unit.
