    DWF exhaust pipe question

2000 M1123. When mounting the DWF exhaust pipe to the side of the truck body....does it bolt directly to the truck body or are there spacers to offset the exhaust pipe? Say 1-1/2 to 2" away from the truck body? I know there are rubber grommets, wasn't sure about bolting to the body or if it's...

    Brake light switch question 1123

My first truck was a 998. Had to move the brake light switch a little to get the brake lights to work. On my 1123 the brake lights are not coming on so I checked out the switch. When you push the brake pedal the switch lever maybe moves a 1/16".... Couldn't see where or how the adjust it for...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Picked up an M1123 with 18000 miles on it. Was camo but decided to go with the green paint scheme. Tomorrow will get the top and rear curtain. Then all the other stuff. I'd kill for a set of nice green soft doors.

    Shaking above 65MPH

That's what was killing me.... One tire/wheel combo would do it randomly..... I never could get it to act normally.

    HMMWV - Brake question

If that doesn't work you can crawl under it and take some slack in the cable right under the lever.

    Shaking above 65MPH

I had bad luck with the military Goodyears and wheels... Tried balancing weights, beads and the mercury filled centramatics. Minor improvement. Drove me crazy. Finally bit the bullet and went with Black Rhino wheels (17") and new tires (Yokohama Geolanders). It wasn't cheap, but the improvement...

    U-Joints

Not to highjack but.... My 1986 went through the Reset Program in 2006. It has a 242 transfer case. Does that mean it's at least an A1? I replaced the rear driveshaft and the numbers on it indicated the driveshaft was a heavy duty version. I had a loose clunky U joint, but a got a great price on...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Thanks. Is yours the new style tank or early A0. I have two rear brake discs, one on each half shaft. I think that's the new style tank.

Faint clicking ticking sound when stopping

whether it's a clicking or ticking sound... Either way when coming to a stop I can hear a faint clicking/ticking sound that slows down as the vehicle slows down.... I know that CV joints and U joints can make this sound when getting old. The M998 has all new half shafts, so I doubt that's it. I...

    Transmission hose drips..leaks

I'm having a hell of a time getting the 3/8" rubber hoses that connect the various hard lines on the transmission to NOT leak or drip. Used new rubber hoses and even double hose clamped them.... Still some will drip... Is there some magic that I'm unaware of? Thanks, I know this isn't the...
