I got my deuce inspected yesterday. It passed without any issues.
I only have a few things left to repair to make it 100% reliable. Well realistically 98%. Then I can start some of the upgrade projects and customizing that I've been dreaming about.
I have the same issue. I am positive that it's leaking out of the master cylinder cap. I want to blame the copper crush washer. With very little room to turn a 3/4" wrench, it's hard to get enough torque on the cap to crush the washer.
I haven't had time to repair it. Some day I'll get around...
I replaced my passenger side window and in the process I broke one of the retainer clips. Anyone know where I can get some new ones?
I had some other things planned but a problem with my Kubota leaking hydraulic fluid from a gasket is going to have to take priority.
I installed the propeller shaft to the winch. I lost the shear pin that I bought for it. I looked for two hours and couldn't find it. I really wanted to try the winch out so I went to Lowe's and bought a 1/4" aluminum bar and made a new one. After messing around with it for about 10 minutes I...
Look on the bright side, my transmission was saved because of this conversation. I'm positive that if I had kept driving it with 30 weight in it, it would be scrap soon.
I just got back from a 35 mile joy ride and the transmission is shifting perfectly. Now I can say with 100% certainty that the 30 weight oil was the cause of my problem.
I have one other thing I want to mention. In the mornings when the temperature is in the low 40's it shifted good. As it warmed up it started to act up. In the afternoon when the temperature is in the low 80's it shifted bad all the time.
I pulled the plugs and found a small amount of steel on the magnets. Not enough to be worried about.
I filled it up with 80 weight oil and took it for a 5 mile drive.
The first couple of shifts weren't very good. The shifter fluttered a few times and then in went into gear. As I drove further...
I finished my transmission rebuild about 4 weeks ago and everything seemed to be working great. I used the 30 weight non detergent oil because the documentation available suggested that was the correct oil for the job. I've put about 40 miles on it so far and now I am starting to have problems...
My goal is to build a reliable engine. I will be getting a new (used) engine this weekend. I will be removing the cam, if it's in good shape I will be sending it to a cam grinder for a new profile. Next I am considering removing the turbo and replacing it with a Paxton supercharger. These...
Check the threads for rust and pits. You don't want to rely on pipe dope to create a good seal. You could chase the threads with a tap to freshen them up. Be careful not to go to deep.
Silly questions, did you have the light switch on the dash turned on?
If both lights aren't working I would start at the brake light switch as mentioned above.
If only one light isn't working then I would look at the turn signal. When you put the turn signal on, it has to turn off the brake...
