Hmm.. That's a good point about the rubber smell. I have a bunch of those exercise foam mat pieces (the one's that look like big gray puzzle pieces) laying around. They're probably half inch thick, and fairly soft. Maybe I will just cut up some of those and use them :)
I don't know how some people can do that.. I've made it a point never to work more than 10 miles from where I live, or live more than 10 miles from where I work. Having to drive that much in the morning/evening, just to get to work and drive back home, is crazy to me :cookoo:
Looks good man :) I need to do a little painting in my cab as well, mostly the door sills and nearby areas. However, if I have a day off today, I am going to get something else done first. I want to clean up the inside of both of my truck mounted toolboxes, then prime them with rust killing...
I could be wrong about this, but I seem to remember reading on here that it is not recommended to use anything other than diesel in the 8.3 engines. I believe even biodiesel use is not recommended, as these trucks were built before 1995 (well.. Most of them. I saw one for sale recently that was...
Hmmm.. Interesting. I wonder if I could find one of those laying around somewhere.. ;)
I'm a little confused though.. What engine number would I be searching for to try and find one out of an RV, etc.?:?
Ok.. Now I am curious. What is the difference between the street and marine 8.3's? Did they just turn it up and add oil squirters, or is there more involved to reach that 400+hp mark? That would be a pretty cool swap.. I'd do it if I had the money.
lol.. I'm the same way when I buy new tools.. I know they are made for working and getting dirty, but I hate to mess them up when they are new and shiny.
Those chocks that you made do look great :goodjob:
Ha. Nice. Since mine will be something I drive quite often I don't plan on messing with the exhaust. It also helps that it's an A2 with the 8.3. I can barely hear it running from 15 feet away :)
