Hi Craig and welcome to the site ...I'm glad to have another SC guy in the room ....I just joined last year myself and am still trying to get to know some people here so thanks for joining . :-P

I have noticed a few people in Landscapping and farm work putting them to work without any problems .You may be able to hook up with a another company to hire out for the hard to reach places ...Most landscapping companies use a pickup truck and a trailer and two are three guys . they don't have...

I'm some what supprised you left the covers on , and that they survived the weather .... I thought for sure they would have torn ......:confused:

Sounds to me like your on the right track ...In regards to the foam ...lose it use a foil lined insullation with the foil down not up and use metal tape to secure it ...The best I found is used in the heating and cooling industry and should be affordable ..Shoe goop should be better than Silicon...

I'm sure that the problem will be as fore mentioned lines seals or airpack ...I would try the airpack first ...and so on and so on ... I have the habit of when in doubt start replacing the most likely and keep going untill it's all new or working like new .... I had a car the would at times...
