It's Pointman's thread but my transmission shifts just fine. When I first got the truck there was a shifting delay issue but idle was too high and wide open throttle rpm was too low. Adjustments were made to linkage, Allison read the transmission again, and no problems found. Speed, shift...
Mine jumps around too. Bet your speedometer is showing the speed in km, reading the black scale, ratio 5/8. Look closely for an inner scale in red-faded-to-pink on the speedometer and compare that scale to the GPS. That red scale read in MPH on mine, at first, then changed.
Before you all...
Normal? It might be for that meter :-) . The needle should be up in the green, of course.
That little dash voltmeter does not mean much. Put a real voltmeter across the batteries and see the actual charge voltage across the 12v pair and the 24v pair. Then you will know what's working.
The indicator pin seal is secondary and you really do not want to have it sealed too well. I found out the hard way. The real seal is inside on the main piston that does all the work, of which the indicator pin is part. Replace the o-ring on the main piston and don't worry about the...
Want to buy some Goodyear MVT 395/85R20 tires for my LMTV. OK with wheels and CTIS if price is right.
Looking for parts and pieces for AT-1011 antenna.

Mark, I took my gunners platform out and have preferred it that way. If you have passengers in the center seat, the soft padded cover is much more comfortable on the backs of their legs than the edge of the platform, which catches a normal leg just above the ankle. My platform also had a...
Hi Tony,
Good looking setup you have there!
Here's one picture with your truck in the foreground, with my LMTV/Alaskan and other convoy trucks as decoration!

The loader may be a Schmidt FL-4 model. If you search on that model number (there is lots of info) and confirm it is what you have, then you can be that much closer to getting parts.
I could have responded with that exact same paragraph! Same window, glass in same gooey stuff, and sand. The glass was stuck over the whole door inside, top to bottom, like the truck had been on its side, or the door had, when broken.
That is a great video! Thanks for posting it. IMHO an LMTV is unsuited and unequipped for such punishment, by original design goal. No way an LMTV can compete with a Unimog.
Short list:. No portal axles, all the air lines on the axles would get ripped off, no diff locks, open driveshafts...
How do you stick that 'tunnel shield' stuff well enough that heat and gravity and truck bouncing does not make it come off? That's why I put my insulation on top.
I do not want to drill holes through the doghouse.
Copied from another thread to consolidate information:
Haven't found info on a rebuild kit for Wabco 461-315-161-0 treadle valve yet. Several local auto parts places and a big truck repair place don't find reference to any kit. The big-trucks guy speculated the treadle valve is critical enough...
Haven't found info on a rebuild kit for Wabco 461-315-161-0 treadle valve yet. Several local auto parts places and a big truck repair place don't find reference to any kit. The big-trucks guy speculated the treadle valve is critical enough that a new, certified, valve might be all that is...
Did anyone find the Wabco part number for the M-1078 treadle valve repair kit? I think the whole assembly is WABCO 461 315 161 0 , but I want the rebuild kit. I don't find it anywhere on the FMTV forum even though there are many
references to the treadle valve.
Mine is leaking and I'm a...
Sounds normal to me. I'm on an extended drive and for several days at 90+ temp, westbound so the sun is on the front, pushing 50 mph, the fan cycles just like yours. However our gauges read a little differently. My temp gauge shows 200 when the fan kicks in and it drops somewhat below that...
