'M35 Adam' has some seats removed from a scrapper MTV. The seats are not very good but bet that adjustment handle is good. Adam has a recent advert for an M-105 (today) that would help locate him easily.
There's another option. As pointed out by many, pulling on the birdcaged cable just makes the bundle tighter. Need to 'unwind' that tension somehow. That can sometimes be accomplished easily by winding another cable (smaller diameter is ok) around the drum backwards (repeat, backwards). Duct...
M813rc is right, hard to tell from the picture about the cab. However, the top of the windshield may not have the attachment stalks for the folding cab frame. Every nation but the Swiss trucks had those. There's something poking up on the trucks right side, but in wrong place(?). If the top...
First thought is that chains mixed with all the air lines on the backside of FMTV wheels would be bad news if a chain ever came loose. Something to consider?
Couple of thoughts: The latch assembly as attached to the cab might be alignable by loosening the bolts. I don't know, but it seems logical to have some way to mate up the latch with the catch. Anyone know?
Also, have you tried the latch process with the cab in both modes, air bag support...
For those doing repair on the latching cylinder for the first time, please be safe. If you raise the cab expecting to work on the latching cylinder, BEWARE, the cab will lose hydraulic pressure and drop if the lock is disconnected or disassembled in place. It becomes a huge mouse trap with...
I also use generic "Tractor Fluid" in mine. It costs for 5 gallons what some special fluids cost for a quart. No issues after about a year. A suggestion, suck out some of the fluid from the fill hole and check it out. Mine was milky from water, plus some rust. If you will suck out as much...
Here are pictures of the complete cab ceiling (somehow came out last, below). Also added today was an extruded aluminum strut for mounting radios. Installation pictures for that were added, too.
There are some holes in the sub-roof that looked handy for hanging stuff from the ceiling. The...
I use Rotella 15W40. No doubt there a dozen oils that would do the job.
Low to full: A plastic coffee container 2/3 full! About two quarts, if I recall correctly. I remember that from topping up after an oil change.
I have not found any such starting setup on my '94 A0
Headliner, one way to do it:
The roof on the LMTV is a heat sink and really gets hot from the sun. The hard surface bounces around any noise in the cab. These panels were made using a sheet of Luan, half an inch of aluminized foam board on the ceiling side, and recycled sleeping mats on the...
That's an intriguing suggestion. If I can measure the pressure in the tube between the exhaust and the air intake: 1) if tube pressurizes then exhaust gas is being forced toward the air intake,
or 2) if the tube shows a vacuum, then the idea is to clear debris out of the air cleaner.
Will...
Does anyone know if the small hose and pipes which route from the exhaust tip ("deflector, air cleaner") back to the air intake filter is exhaust gas recirculation?
Can't find any notes in the main manual but the system shows up in the -24P parts manual, TM9-2320-365-24P, page 107, figure 31...
