Let me know.

Rad removal was nothing overwhelming. It's large and awkward but the process is straightforward. I was nervous going into it but if you're into working on this stuff, it should be no problem.
2000 and it is plated and insured, and driven when the mood moves me.
Plate is the OR Special Interest option and insurance is through Progressive, as a commercial vehicle for personal (non-commercial) use. I will PM you the agent who went the extra mile to find me the coverage.
I am with Progressive and classified as a commercial vehicle for private use. Keep calling around until you have someone who does the leg work to understand this is coverage which the company provides. I had to go through a handful (5 or 6) agents before someone was truly interested in taking...
Driveshaft balance made a large improvement on my 1088. Didn't clean it all up but made a large improvement. $pendy, but ask around- the consequences are even worse.
I paid ~$1100 for all new universals, one section being rebuilt, and everything balanced.
With another ~100 miles under the chassis, I can confirm things are much better. I do want to go back through the tires as there is still just a minor shimmy from time to time, but I am willing to bet that checking/adjusting the balance and concentricity will resolve it.
It felt good enough to...
YAY!!!
With a couple spare wheels from Martin at FMTV Sales, I think I have solved the problem. Last week or so, I checked the roundness of the tires and found one of the rear ones distressingly non-concentric (maybe ~3/8") and another marginally so. None of them were perfectly round and with...
I don't know if they are in active production but talk to Jeff. He may have a pair in stock and if not can order and drop ship. The lead time to him was a little long from Power Packer but I was impressed with his customer service:

Turns out they were off of amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Flex-lite-11624-Reversible-Electric/dp/B004KV2HE2
They were $88 when I bought them. Looking now, they are out of stock but available elsewhere, albeit more expensive though.
Think through your fan replacement. I didn't break anything when I moved my trans cooler but went with two much lower profile 24v fans. A simple blanking plate over the core matrix with round holes sized for the fans got the job done in a package that was 5-6" shorter overall than the OEM...
I started with my control box there but it's right where all the road debris and such will get tossed. I ended up moving it above where you have the pump on the tower I have for the air filters. Despite very few miles on it so far (and none off road), I am very glad I did it.

I guess I am pretty unloaded. Just went past a DOT scale:
Front - 9,800#
Rear - 7,200#
Total - 17,000
That is with me (~200#) and ~5/8 tank of fuel (30-ish gal).
I checked how round the tires are and the left two rear tires were a bit out of round, enough so that I may disassemble and...
