Some forward progress and some stagnation: radiator was successfully removed, repaired, and replaced. I didn't take many pictures during the process and just followed along with the TM, and it pretty much went right along with how I...
Try Martin at FMTV Sales outside of Portland (Hillsboro). Seems like he always has trucks moving through and I know he parts out some. He's also within driving range for you.
I got adventurous and took off the oil fill tube where it bolts onto the cover and saw a nut right in front of it. I assume that's it? Looks like it should be. 1 1/8" socket?
The good thing is it was nice and tight.
If that wasn't it, feel free to re-direct me.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks George.
Can anybody point me at the TM section or actual procedure for cover removal. Or is as simple as just pull the bolts, remove the cover, check the nut's tightness?
Still looking for a little help please.
I found this thread: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/loose-rad-fan.194345/
My fan is the one in post #8 above and didn't have parts #30, 31, & 33 from this image:
So I assume it's a new one and doesn't have the rubber hub which disintegrates...
And on the fan, it is distinctly not wobbly right now. I gave it a good shaking around while it was still on the motor and it's quite stable. I can't seem to find the thread right now, but at one point I want to say I saw a recommendation on removing the rubber piece which is prone to failure...
Is there something specific that I need to inspect on these and what should I be looking for? What is the high wear item here? It has been working fine.
Got a diagram/location? Is this the cover:
Thanks in advance.
An update on the truck-
I have a few parallel projects running and the others jumped the truck's priority recently, so haven't been putting the time in as much as I wanted. I have started it up a few times and gone around the block or out for gas, but not too far due to the coolant leak.
What...
Sandspider-
It was recommended by Quade at Overland Adventure Truck as a better alternative to the lighter (5t) spring pack. It seems to have made the truck's ride very reasonable, almost like a 1 ton pickup. With the air ride of the cab, it almost feels plush. Or at least "truck plush"...
Perfection in OK City has a pair of new bags in stock, ~$350 shipped. Talk to Jeff.

If I have a completely legal manner in which to insure them in my home state (OR), can I share it? It would have saved me a massive amount of headache and heartache when buying in and prior to securing the insurance.
Most companies out there are categorically unaware of these vehicles and what...
Welcome to my world:

Everything has been larger to deal with but I can't believe how much I really like the truck so far. It has been, and will continue to be, a massive learning experience but I am willing to bet it will...
Upon further investigation, the heater core is fine. The mist invading the cab came though the vent (didn't know this until I took the dash apart to understand how it works). Tracing the vent feed, I took a look at the rad I can see a seep of coolant coming down its fins. Ugh.
Any helpful...
I had vaporized anti-freeze fog coming from my heater last trip around the block. I haven't started ripping it apart yet but wanted to see if there were any tricks to it. Anyone done this recently and had any tidbits to pass along?
This is also based on the assumption that it is the heater...
From Jeff at Perfection (https://www.perfectionequipment.com ). The price he gave me was $239 each plus a guess at shipping. He never obtained actual shipping cost because I never ordered anything through him but he guessed that it'd be around $50 to me in Oregon.
That's not correct for the combo unit. Jeff was very patient about getting this clarified: PP997900 is for the bag only. It was ~$500 for a shipped pair. He had a separate number for the shock (PP954900) and it is definitely NOT included with the PP997900. The combo unit was something like...
