My house is mostly all electric becids the heat. I do just fine with a 802a. Can run the electric stove and take a hot shower while lights are on like normal. I have a heat pump water heater and 1/2hp 240v well pump.
What i cant do is use the 3ton central air and i dont use the electric...
My perfectly running 260hr set shoots oil out of the dip stick...so not a sure fire way to know anything but theres oil in the pan and engine is turning.
Your in FL so i would think you could use up a 55gal drum every few years. I bet this last storm where nearly tje whole state evacuated was a real eye opener to alot of people.
Thankfully my stste dosnt usualy have whole state evacuations and neither to many other states. How ever my area...
You guys are forgetting that he may not want 100s of gallons of diesel nor may he beable to use it in a timely manor. 20days with out power is not normal any where in this country so having 250gal of diesel sitting around may be more of a liability than a benifit.
If you can get diesel in an...
Storing any fuel for a single use that may only happen once in a blue moon wouldnt be wise, Propane included. Not to mention most of those propane generators drink it like its free.
I had a look around at my property and decided on diesel due to my secondary home heat is heating oil. So i...
Thats what you will think....the delivery will always come and the NG pipe line is always flowing.
Highly doubt your paying $250 for a 250gal propane tank.
Expensive? Have you priced out a 1000gal propane tank to buy vs two 55gal drums? Most all of the propane generators dont sip fuel they guzzle it. Your also still relying on a propane truck to deliver fuel. Diesel you can pump and transfer your self.
NG has its own problems.
Gesus 17k hrs after 2 years. He didnt run it 520hrs of the available hours in the years. If you need power that much im sure i can thinkof better ways to make it or het around it.
Fuel storage is a personal/useage thing. No one else can tell you how much fuel you will need.
Things to figure all this out:
Expected outage duration
Fuel consumption
Hours a day the generator will run
Fuel useage for 3-4 years
Ehat else do you have that uses diesel.
All things need to be...
Plan B could be letting alot of air out of her tires. More contact with the ground makes for the vehicle not sinking in the snow as much.
Places that get next to no snow can be a real hazard with only a few inches. People with summer tires in the snow are the worst. I usualy dont go out...
Had 60mph winds here. Many limbs down in my yard, hot tub cover blew off 2x before i ratchet strapped it down. Saw 2 power poles broken but we still have power.
I think sandy/irene and a few snow/leaf storms really helped clear the trees by the power lines.
Coat the rubber O ring with grease or oil. Just like you would do with a engine oil filter. All my filters come off by hand months later on everything i have already changed the filter on.
