240v in a inverter generator..you will be hard pressed to find a 3kw unit. Why do you need 240v?
The cheap inverter generators have come a long way in the last few years. Champion are cheap for a reason but its $1k and 2x the output of the used 831 your looking at.
Westighouse and champion sell inverter based 4k and 3.5k generators with prety good fuel burn number for $600 and $500. Have you looked at them?
Also at $1500 and 3kw your prety darn close to buying a brand spanken new honda inverter.
Sometimes these meps mak sence some times they dont. In...
Since the whole thing is missing i would go with a Racor filter separator setup. You could even do away with the other fuel filter and beable to see the water collecting in the bowl.
You can make steel lines easy enough with vehicle brake line and flare kit. Copper nickel line is wonderfull stuff to work with.
I think this fuel system is around 12psi max so even rubber fuel hose with hose clamps would be fine. That pump just lifts fuel to the injection pumps.
Dont run it at 130percent. Theres no more "turning up" than what they did from the factory.
Follow the links posted above. Not turning off is a common issue.
I used a piece of that aluminum guard with all the holes in it...the one that blocks you from seeing past the coolant bottle. I just RTVed it in place. You can use a floor jack to lift one side.
Have your ruled out a cylinder not getting fuel? They will vibrate to all **** like that. Starting it and looking for a cold port on the exhaust manifold will tell you this.
So you need the stop there. The linkage could go past center. Who knows what could happen inside at the fuel rack. I know the IPumps can fall out of the rack if there moved to far.
What you really should do is run the generator hot wires to the main lugs on the pannel, ground and neutral to there bars, drive a ground rod and hook it to the ground bar on the pannel. This way is safe and you can run all 120/240v loads in the shop. If you ever wanted to put a service on you...
Not sure how a 3ph heating element would be wired but i do know dryer elements are cheap. Real cheap. I got my 5kw for $15 shipped. I got 3 so i can wire in series or parallel and everywhere inbetween.
There was a real nice load bank a guy made on here. I believe it was dryer elements and a...
No gray area. Engines are rated that way what they produce is another story.
Have you noticed that they have started rating generator run time at 25 percent load? Whats next zero load? Lol
Its a 10k generator with a bit more. 15k is alot more. I would do 11k and if you dont see major black soot/smoke in a few minutes i could call it good. Overloading it could be dammaging to the generator. That kind of defeats the purpose of a maintence load test.
How much does it cost to...
You should see a healthy amount of fuel coming from the hard line side of the injection pumps. If you dont you have a fuel delivery problem, fuel rack problem or fuel lift pump problem.
Also if the system was turned over alot with rotted fuel lines the system could be air bound. You may...
Hose clamp should be fine. Theres no pressure on it. How ever hose may be hard, valve may be leaking, fittings leaking or plug may be loose.
Have you tryed to tighten the clamp? Are you sure driving it around didnt alot the oil to drip off something else? Run it and test.
