Hello, I picked up this 1969 M35A2 and did a frame up restore back to its 1969 colors as close to stock as I could. It took about 18 months to complete. It was a love/hate thing for sure, but a labor of love.
I could not see to well in your pics. There is a washer that goes over the inter axle seal, sometime it is copper looking. That is what the back side of the axle flange rides on.
Sounds like you still have an air leak some place, I would check the fuel filter and the pickup tube in the tank.
Check out this tread. Also the oring on the bolt at the top of the fuel filter can be a problem.

The 5/8" and 3/4" is the bolts on the wheels not the lug nut studs. If you look at the Lug nuts they are like 1".
Also the hub in the pic is not a M809 or M939 series hub.
I just repaired my M932A2 Ctis on one wheel. As it turned out one air seal had moved in the hub and was not hold air anymore.
But when I took the hub apart I found that there was not a seal like the A0 & A1's outer oil seal, only the two air seal and the inter seal. So I guess the outer...
The tread size is 3/8" x16 I think my PTO has all studs and no bolts. Not sure the best way to fix your case.
The studs are 3/8" x16 and the nut end is 3/8" x 24 and OAL 2"
