The fuel gauge is reading full all the time so it will not auto-refuel.
I suspect it maybe stuck, and if that is the case how do I free it up? I'm not sure how to check it?
Do you reach through the filler area or remove some panel?
or is it likely some other problem?
This thing is near new...
Has anyone piped the exhaust on an 802 831 or 803 into a water drum?
Like a 55 gallon drum of water?
To make it quieter?
Does it work?
Is there a danger in doing this? Like water back feeding into the exhaust manifold?
My 802 is on the dirt right now, but I have a concert slab I'm going to mount it to on the weekend.
Next inspect what is rattling and see how quiet I can get it.
I had some other thread with it surging, and what was going on there was I had one of the injector pumps installed wrong.
Now I...
Thanks for the reply,
I have 1 more kind of dumb question, what temp should it run at? This runs at a steady 180 degrees.
No it will not walk across the floor, I never owned one of these 802's before.
It just shakes and rattles more than any other generator (non- 5 kw) I have ever had...
I have an 802 and it seems to be vibrating too much also.
I did adjust the injector pump and it vibrates less when it's turned counter clock wise as much as possible. but still vibrates too much.
Engine mounts are tight.
This one has only 12 hours on it. I had to clean out the injector pump...
Yes I got it going again after drying it out with a hair dryer, like was suggested.
If it rains and if very humid it would not start and run from cold and was getting that error.
Once it is running even if raining and extremely humid it performs good and did not get the error until it cooled...
Thanks so much for her help!
I got it running but still have the surging problem.
I installed the IPs correctly and they are in the slots. When I remove then they pump when they are supposed to and turn off when suppose to.
The manual I have shows the slots this IP pins go in as at 90 degrees...
I left the clamps off until I thought the both pins were in the slots, then I clamped them down before running the engine.
I am having the issue when I put in IP #2.
It seems IP #2 will not fall down in place unless I turn the governor a little clock wise moving the rail toward the rear of the...
I'm doing something wrong, but do not know what it is?
I took the IP's (injection pumps) apart cleaned then and now they pump and turn on and off like they should when I swing the pin back and forth. BUT.
I fired it up and it started surging badly and would not turn off. I had to crack the...
I have a low hour MEP 831 with 30 hours, ran it 10 hours now the next day after cooling off the Short Circuit / Overload light turns on after starting it and running about 10 or 15 seconds and shuts down the generator.
This is even before activating the circuits.
It starts right up and then...
Thanks,
The parts all seem to be moving freely, and I think it is the check valve that is stuck shut.
I was trying to find a diagram of all the parts on this IP (injector pump aka Diesel Fuel Metering Fuel Pump Onan 186-6151) but was unable to find one.
So I'm going to soak the part where the...
