Tom, if you would like to PM me with the numbers you've found, I can tell you which (if any) are the VIN. I can probably also verify the year the truck was manufactured.
While for most trucks the VN is located on the driver's side frame rail forward of the centerline of the axle. It is a...
Jumbo Jeep made by Canadian-American Truck Company during WWII. Was tested with three different power plants.
Obviously, not a success story.

Great looking truck Bill!
While my initial thought is that Bill is right, this is a "home made" fire truck, it should be noted that the military had more than one type of fire truck based on the 1 1/2 ton chassis, and I definately agree the truck found is not like Bill's.
It may be a modified...

To a purist (not that I know any of those rofl ) this is herasy. If this is going to be concern to you, better to know on the front end that after the...
RE: wrecker
Nit picking, but its a M108 Crane Truck. The deuce wrecker is the M60 (which has a rear winch). The M108 was intended primarily as a bomb service truck.
The giveaway that it is a 2 /12 ton truck is the Reo engine- and if he rebuilt the engine, he knows what it is. For further...
Yes, the army installed some LDS-465 in deuces. This is because the EPA prevented the continued production of the Multifuel engine, forcing the army to use there existing stock of engines for repairs and rebuilds. However, when installed in the deuce, the LDS had its IP settings reset to the...
