the first time i drove up a hill and let the truck roll backwards still in second gear,the noise was unbelievable. looked under the truck expecting to see all kind of parts, but was lucky, didn't see anything, and everything still worked right. i never did it again though.

the 5 tons usually have a sprauge transfer case which engages the front end when the rear wheels start to spin. i'm sure i will be corrected, but thats how it works.

don't think there is a limit if it is factory

that lever is and forever has been called the trolley brake. it's used to hold the trailer brakes, then if you have to move ,a little at a time you still can work the gas and clutch with you 're feet. real handy when you're against a paverbox or spreading stone. fun to make you're trailer go...

tell you what, i got 3- 20k btu heaters in my buggie and it still tuff to keep the windows defrosted. even got two of those windshield fans and the grill cover on the front.

ixne on ebay ..you can get them rebuilt for $200- $300. and you know it's gonna work. any truck repair or parts place can tell you where to get it rebuilt.

open windshields all the way ,and you won't have to look at those annoying wipers. works for me.

off road the weight limit is 2 and a half ton not 5 ton. besides it being in the tanks that make it way top heavy. (a man has got to know his limitations) a good friend of mine is always telling me this.

yep i think so . i teed in a mechanical gauge for safe t and it read the same as the original gauge . so i just live with it ,. my buddie says there is a releif valve in there some where so you dont blow out the orings in the winter when the oil is real thick.

try the 16 s on the front some times those 16.5 s ,all they want to do is wobble. when they were introduced back in the 70's you could'nt keep the front end from shaking. they went to the 16s and no more problems .

my 5 ton did that once, thought the front end was falling out.had to jack on the brakes to make it stop. don't go down that street anymore. could be the shocks.had a mack do that and they had to replace the front spring hanger pins and bushings

my truck runs 50lds when just started and running normal . when hot and idling it is just over 10lds. been like that for 5 years now.
