So I got my wrecker stuck again...

I got my 109 howitzer stuck trying to go around a 109 that was stuck that was trying to go around a 109 that threw a track and turned sideways in the trail. It took 88s to recover us. I could pat mud/water a few inches below the hull at driver hatch. That was not a fun night getting them 109s...

Sounds like the treadle valve failed.

XM816 swap to Michelin 53 Super singles

Is there a sound and logical reasoning to left threads on the left side? I know the idea behind it, really necessary?

    M939a1 wheel removal

I used 2 18” sections of 3/4” black/gas pipe, pulled all but 2 nuts off, slid the pipes on the 10 and 2 o’clock studs, burped the last 2 nuts off and used the pipes to wiggle and leverage the tire on/off. i had a local machine shop drill and tap some 4140 rod for left and right threads to...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Copy. So some of the components used would cross over, but not all of course. Ill figure it out.

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Copy on all. Do i understand correctly, the drive shaft from xmsn to t-case is longer on an a2 wrecker, than an a1/2 cargo? I do have a donor truck i guess i’ll drag back closer to my shop and start yarding things off and pulling a tape to see what will work. It may be expensive, not sure, but...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

Do you have a parts list of the major parts/components used for the swap? I need to finish my sawmill first, probably 3-4 months, maybe less, from getting it finished, and i think i should start gathering parts up for a manual swap into my 936a2. Im going to build an adapter to couple my gn to...

    M936 Exhaust Clamp?

Iv gotta “fix” my muffler too. Its completely rusted out at the bottom. So instead of putting a new muffler on, im just going to straight pipe it so i can get it to pass inspection and hope the dot inspector waives some things bc it’ll be registered as a farm truck. Im restricted having farm...

    Recommended Tool for the road

Probably 15-20 night flights per season. So id say cumulative, 2-3 hrs per season. Only turn them on when the acft is heard 5 min out, then around 5 min for shut down, but by then, vehicle headlights are illuminating the acft and unloading zone

    Recommended Tool for the road

i have not. But my business partner uses them for makeshift remote heli landing pad for night time landing while feral hog hunting. He says they last a while ( 3 rd season this yr and still good batt charge.

    Recommended Tool for the road

I bought 6 4 pack of the knock-off guardian angel magnetic puck lights from tractor supply. Keep some in my truck, some in my mv and my wife has some. Wouldnt think they would replace road triangles but a good sub for road flares.

    M936A2 hyd gpm

Thanks on the psi and gpm. yes, hose size determines flow, in which, fitting size determines hose size. what i was looking at had 1” npt to jic and @ 3000 psi, rated at 23,000 lbs of ext and i think 17,000 lbs of ret force. Which i could care less about ret force, but def need to worry about...

    5 ton Top Speed

Id be happy with 60, 65 would be better. My 936a2 is bout as gutless as a runned over tx jackrabbit or governor. Im trying to catch back up and find the manual xmsn swap into someone’s (i think 923a2) and start gathering the parts needed to throw a 10 or 13 spd in my donor 936a2. But i do good...

    M936A2 hyd gpm

I lost my manuals on my computer yesterday. Im wanting to replace the screw down outriggers, for hyd cylinders with QDs. Im thinking of tying on the crane/rear winch hyd system but dont have a way to find out gpm and psi. Im assuming 3000psi, and gpm may not matter, except for speed of ext/ret...

    Changing tires- Best way

For taking the assy. off the rear axles, i first used 3/4” black pipe, slid over the studs and could walk it off. I had 2 solid rods drilled/tapped for the stud and threaded them on but it didnt work as well as the black pipe. It took me about 15 min to rmv and reinstall a rear assy. after...

1/2" wire rope open spelter socket for M936A2 crane

I had to cut some cable off my front winch bc it had some severe strand breakage. I will be getting some of the crosbys, bc those factory swedges SUCK!!!!!!!! to put back together. I know i didnt put it back properly and im sure if i snatched it, the cable would come back at me. I did single...

    M923 13 Speed Swap

gotcha. my dual disk south bend i had in my hopped up cummins had similar pins (looked more like dowel pins) to keep the intermediate plate from riding on the first and sec stage clutch plates while the pedal was depressed. which is what give it its rattling sound.
